The World T20 in Australia is all set to begin within one month from mid-October onwards. Team India presently isn’t in the best possible rhythm after having failed to achieve positive results in the Asia Cup 2022. The fact that the side failed to even make it to the finals and got eliminated in the Super 4 stages itself is a huge concern for the team and the management in particular.
With an event as big as the T20 World Cup up ahead, the team needs to rebuild its morale and make all the necessary arrangements in order to prepare itself to the greatest extent so that they can achieve its objectives in the World T20 unlike the Asia Cup 2022. The team shall have to get themselves back on track after a disappointing outing in the Asia Cup.
Several verifications in the line-up, batting order, and a dozen other departments of the team need to be done for which India will need a sufficient amount of practice and real match situations before featuring in the World T20 in Australia next month. It’s time for us to have a look at the T20I schedule of India before the commencement of the T20 World Cup in October.
1. T20I series vs Australia (3 Home matches)
India shall be going head to head with Australia in a three-match T20I series at home at first. The series shall begin on the 20th of September. The second and third matches will be played on the 23rd and 25th of September respectively.
The series will provide India with a fair amount of opportunities to test their side up against a strong Australian side. Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel shall be making a comeback in the team after sitting out with injuries during the Asia Cup.
The Indian squad will also consist of several other players who haven’t had much game time in the recent past.
2. T20I series vs South Africa (3 Home matches)
India shall be playing a three-match T20I series vs South Africa before making its way to Australia for the World T20. The three T20Is shall be played on the 28th of September, 2nd and 4th of October respectively.
The matches shall provide the much-needed experience of actual match situations to several players and thus help them prepare for the massive upcoming event.
