India got off to a good start but lost their first wicket, Shubman Gill, for a total of 41 runs. Rahul and Virat, the following two, both fell too soon. At the time, Team India was having trouble, losing 3 wickets for 48 runs.

Rishabh Pant played as he is known for. He and Pujara together handled the situation with the counterattack. Mehidy Hasan was the one Bangladesh was looking for, he clean-bowled Rishabh Pant(46). Shreyas Iyer and Pujara then made a 149 runs stand. Pujara just fell 10 runs short of a ton and a perfect flatter ball of Taijul Islam took bails off.

In fact, the dropped catches helped Pujara and Iyer. When Nurul Hasan dropped Pujara off the bowling of Ebadot Hossain, he was on 12. Pujara drove a full pitch but edged it low to the right of the wicketkeeper on the second ball after lunch. Nurul, however, was unable to use the opportunity.

Iyer was granted twice. Nurul missed a chance off Shakib Al Hasan’s ball. Then, with the score at 67, Ebadot dropped a simple catch at deep midwicket, making Mehidy Hasan Miraz the unhappy bowler this time.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz got Axar Patel at the last ball of the day and finally, India are 276/6 on the Stumps.
