India vs England 2nd Test Match: Team India’s dependable batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has not taken the field on day 2 of the second test match after being hit on his hand during India’s inning on day 1.

Pujara on Day 1 made 21 from 58 deliveries before getting caught to Stokes off Jack Leach. India amassed 329 runs in the first inning before getting bowled out early morning on Day2.

Substitute opener Mayank Agarwal is seen on the ground in the place of Pujara. As per the reports, Pujara will not be taking the field today.

“Cheteshwar Pujara was hit on his right hand while batting on Day 1 of the second Paytm Test against England. He felt some pain later. He will not be fielding today,” read an update from the BCCI.

Pujara has taken quite a blows into his body during the last series against Australia, especially during the last game at Brisbane. But the lion-hearted batsman chooses not to leave the field and play his part in tremendous win at Gaba.

India will be looking to take more services from Pujara and in this situation, it will be beneficial for India that he doesn’t get ruled out. The reports are awaited from the BCCI.

After lunch on Day 2, England has been put in back-foot by Indian bowlers. After 38 overs England are 87 with the loss of 6 wickets.

India has posted a total of 329 runs with Rohit Sharma getting most of the runs for India. He completed his 7th century and amassed 161 runs while Ajinkya Rahane scored 67 runs.

For England spin all-rounder Moeen Ali picked 4 scalps while Olly Stone got three, Jack Leach and Joe Root picked two and one respectively.
