India vs England: England squad for the third and fourth test against India.

India vs England: England Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday announced England’s squad for the last two test games against India. Wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow and pacer Mark Wood have been brought in by the board.

India demolished England at Chennai by 317 runs on Day 4 to level the four games test series. Both the teams will now head to Ahmedabad for the last two test games. The third test will be a pink ball test (D/N).

The selectors have decided to send back all-rounder Moeen Ali back home due to England’s rotation policy and manage the workload. 

Wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow who was given rest after the two games Test series against England is brought in to the side along with pacer Mark Wood.

“Moeen Ali will return to England for a break while Jonny Bairstow and Mark Wood join the squad having been rested for the first two Tests,” the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement.

Till now India has not released their squad for the last two tests. Mohammad Shami who sustained wrist injury can make his comeback as he was seen bowling back in nets at NCA lately.

Squad: Joe Root (C), Jofra Archer, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Foakes, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Chris Woakes, Zak Crawley, Dan Lawrence, James Anderson, Jack Leach, Ollie Pope, Dominic Bess, Dom Sibley, Ben Stokes, Olly Stone, Mark Wood.

Schedule for the last two tests at Ahmedabad:

Feb 24, Wed – India vs England, 3rd Test (D/N) – Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad

Mar 04, Thu – India vs England, 4th Test – Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad
