India vs England: Rishabh Pant will be all-time great says, Sourav Ganguly.

India vs England: All the former players from the cricket fraternity erupted as Rishabh Pant scored a scintillating hundred on Day 2 of the fourth test match. Pant amassed 101 runs in 118 deliveries to put India back to the driving seat after a series of breakthroughs in the first two sessions. His 101 runs knock included 13 boundaries and 2 towering sixes.

Pant came to bat when India were well behind over 100 runs after the wicket of vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane. Rishabh Pant at the beginning batted sensibly to set on the crease along with Rohit Sharma.

After the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin, Pant stitched a strong partnership with Washington Sundar of 113 runs for the seventh wicket.

The wicketkeeper-batsman started to accelerate once India levelled the scored. At the end of Day 02, India are 89 runs ahead of visitors with 3 wickets in hand.

Pant’s innings kept everyone speechless and even former Indian skipper and current president of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly hailed his performance through a Tweet.

“How good is he? Unbelievable..what a knock under pressure…not the first time and won’t be the last time..will be an all time great in all formats in the years to come.keep batting in this aggressive manner .thats why will be match winner and special.. @bcci @RishabhPant17,” Ganguly tweeted. 

Apart from Sourav Ganguly, Kevin Peterson, Nasser Hussain, Michael Vaughan, RP Singh, Ian Bell and several other former cricketers praised his innings.

In the game, India wrapped England in the third session with 205 runs on Board. For India Axar Patel picked four wickets, Ashwin got two, Mohammad Siraj got two while Washington Sundar picked one.

India is looking strong for the berth of the ICC World Test Championship final. They need to win the test game or at least draw it in order to get qualified.
