India vs England: Former England skipper Michael Vaughan through his tweet tried to slam India for the surface used at Chepauk for the second test against England to which the spin legend Shane Warne replied, “No one said a word about the pitch when India had no chance.”

After the humiliating defeat in the first game, India bounced back in the rank turners at Chepauk. Indian spinners especially Ravichandran Ashwin ran through the England line-up to clear them all one by one.

The debate between the two former cricketers started with a tweet by Michael Vaughan saying, “It’s entertaining cricket as things are happening all the time but let’s be honest this Pitch is a shocker .. Not making any excuses as India have been better but this isn’t a Test Match 5 day prepared Pitch.”

Warne praised Indian batsmen and hailed the innings from Rohit Sharma (161), Ajinkya Rahane (67) and Rishabh Pant (58).

“Come on maaaaaate! The last few days of the 1st test, the wicket started exploding & no one said a word about the pitch when India had no chance. At least this test it’s been the same for both teams from ball one. Eng bowled poorly & Rohit, Pant and Jinx showed how to bat,” Warne wrote.

The surface for the first test started to do movement after day three while the second test has been fair for both the sides. There was a movement from ball one of the second test and there was a fair competition between bat and ball.

Warne also said that India the toss was more important to win in the first game due to which England got an advantage in the first innings.

Kevin Peterson also praised India for the braveness they showed to prepare a sheer rank turner especially when India is one down.

“Such a brave wicket to prepare for a Test match In India when India are down in the series. If India had lost the toss, they’d have gone down 2-0. Very very brave! Well tossed, @imVkohli,” Pietersen tweeted.
