India vs England Test: Mohammad Shami resumes training, might be available for the third test.

India vs England Test: Team India’s senior pacer, Mohammad Shami started his training on Friday, might be available for the selection on a third test match against England at Ahmedabad.

Shami was seen doing his low-intensity training at National Cricket Association (NCA) Bengalore that raised rope for his participation in the penultimate test or maybe the last at Ahmedabad.

The Indian speedster took a blow in his wrist off Pat Cummins fierce shot ball during the second innings of the first Adelaide Test. In the match, India saw a miserable debacle and lost the game in mere three days.

Shami sustained a hairline fracture on his bowling arm as he failed to defend the short ball off Cummins. He was later ruled out of the whole India-Australia test series and had to return India for his rehab program.

The speedster shared the video of him bowling at NCA along with his counterpart Navdeep Saini who sustained a groin injury during the first innings of the last test at Brisbane Gaba.

“Shami’s forearm is fine right now. He will have some low-intensity net sessions for the next few days. He has been advised to bowl around 18 deliveries a day at 50 to 60 per cent effort,” a source in the know of things told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

“Since has been out for more than a month and a half, that is how the workload will be built,” the source added.

Right now he is getting through a short run-up and by the next week, he will switch to a medium run-up. After a full assessment, the selectors and after the green signal from the medical team he will be up for the selections for the third and fourth test against England at Ahmendabad.

“The pink-ball test i.e., the third test match is still three and half week away from here. There are possibilities that he will be fit by then and he might come-in playing eleven soon.”

“He has started to bowl, that means his arm is fully recovered and there is no other niggles as of now. By the next week, we will get a much clear image of his injury and he will also get an idea of whether he will be fit or not.”
