India vs England Test Series: Ollie Pope added to England’s Test squad ahead of the first test.

India vs England Test Series: England’s middle-order young batsman Ollie Pope has been added to the test squad on Wednesday after a taking part in team’s full net session after completing the quarantine rules.

The young batsman suffered a dislocation on his shoulder while fielding during the last test of England summer against Pakistan. Pope underwent surgery to be fit for the much anticipated India-England test series. This is the second time Ollie Pope suffered dislocation on his shoulder.

Ollie Pope travelled with the England squad and did his rehab program with the support staff and medical team of the ECB. He was also the part of Sri Lanka series although he was not named in the squad but travelled to Sri Lanka and eventually he flew to India with the rest of his teammates.

“Surrey batsman Ollie Pope has been added to the England Test squad for the tour of India,” said a statement issued by the England and the Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

“Pope has fully recovered from a left shoulder injury sustained in August 2020 against Pakistan. The England medical team are satisfied that he is available for selection.”

He is undergoing high-intensity net sessions with the rest of the teammates for the last two days.

It is assumed that Pope will be in the playing XI for the first test against India, if this happens he will either come at number five or six.

Both the teams will have their last and final net session at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Thursday.
