The Indian Cricket team is a unit that is known for its batting lineup. We generally talk about the Gavaskar’s, Tendulkars, and Vengsarkers. We at times talk about Kapil Dev and Zaheer Khan but that happens less often. But in the past few years, it is the Indian fast bowling that has done the talking. The fast bowlers have been mighty impressive. So, considering fitness, and adaptability who are the top 5 Indian fast bowlers? Here’s a look:
1) Jasprit Bumrah is the Best Bowler on the Indian Cricket Team:
The leader of the pack or the “ace of pace” is Jasprit Bumrah. The only all-format bowler that the Indian Team has. Bumrah is very clinical in all the 3 formats. He can swing the red cherry in his hand. He can also bowl sharp bouncers and toe-crushing yorkers with the white ball. He is good at the death and equally fierce in the powerplay overs. He generally tends to remain fit but his back injury is a genuine concern for the team as Bumrah is a true asset for the Indian Cricket Team.
2) Mohammed Shami is one of the top Bowlers of the Indian Cricket Team:
From one multi-format player to another. Mohammed Shami is one of the top bowlers for the Indian team. The seam position that Shami maintains is elite. He can swing the ball both ways. He also has the rare skill of “reverse swing”. Mohammed Shami is a true fighter. He has done exceptionally well for the Indian team in the past few years, all while fighting demons in his personal life. Shami has taken the Indian Cricket Team and its red-ball bowlers’ squad to a whole new level.
3) Bhuvneshwar Kumar:
Bhuvi is also a multi-format bowler but he only plays the white ball games. He does intend to play red-ball cricket but the selectors are not too curious about that. Bhuvi can swing the ball viciously in the first 6 overs of a T20 game. You take him to Mars and he can swing the ball there too. He has the magic in his hands. His death bowling has been on the drop since the past year but he is a champion bowler and knows how to make a comeback. The Indian Cricket Team is blessed to have him.
4) Mohammed Siraj:
Siraj is a true entertainer. Every cricket fan knows that if Siraj is bowling a spell, he will either take wickets or go for runs. But entertainment is guaranteed. He was clinical in the ODI series against England where he got limited opportunities. But in the tests, Siraj is in a league of his own. One can never forget his performance at the Gabba. He can swing the ball but his swing is very late which makes him more deadly. The ball comes back into the right-hander very fast. He consistently bowls at 145 clicks.
5) Prasidh Krishna is one of the top bowlers of the Indian Cricket Team:
Prasidh Krishna is only an ODI bowler but he has the potential to offer more. It is just that the management wants to protect this asset for the upcoming ODI World Cup which will be held in 2023. Prasidh is a “hit-the-deck” bowler who tends to extract extra bounce from the pitch. His height adds value to his effort. He is more like a young Ishant Sharma but with a more express pace. He can at times clock up to 150 clicks. He has been associated with the national team for over 3 years now.
