AUS vs NZ: Updated World Cup 2023 Points Table, Australia, New Zealand to Enter Semi-Finals ICC World Cup 2023

AUS vs NZ: As we are nearing the World Cup 2023 semis, the contests have become more intense and competitive. The last two fixtures in the World Cup 2023 are a treat for the eye of a cricket fan. A couple of nights ago, South Africa sealed the game against Pakistan in the final over thriller, and now Australia got past New Zealand in the epic contest which unfolded at the HPCA Stadium in Dharmshala. Australia, with the win, equalled New Zealand in the total number of victories in the ongoing World Cup 2023 and ensured that they remain firm in the World Cup 2023 semifinal race. This article, later on, will lead you through AUS vs NZ: Updated World Cup 2023 Points Table, Australia, New Zealand Ranking.

Australia, batting first in the contest, plundered a massive total in Dharmshala, riding on the back of a fiery century knock from Travis Head and David Warner’s 81-run knock. The two Australian openers looked poised and provided a brilliant start to the team as they added 175 runs for the first wicket.

Following the big opening stand, Australia saw a collapse from its middle-order and things got a bit tight for them in the middle-order. However, Glenn Maxwell (41), Josh Inglis (38) and skipper Pat Cummins’ (37) quickfire knocks helped the team put a 388-run total in 50 overs.

Trent Boult (3), Glenn Phillips (3) and Mitchell Santner (2) were the pick of the bowlers as they picked eight wickets collectively.

Chasing such a big total required special effort from the entire team and New Zealand certainly got it, however, unfortunately, the day wasn’t theirs. Top-order batter Rachin Ravindra played an innings to remember as he scored 116 runs in 89 deliveries. Later in the innings, Daryl Mitchell and James Neesham scored a half-century, but all efforts went in vain as Australia registered a last-ball win by 5 runs.

AUS vs NZ: New Zealand, Australia to enter Semi-Finals ICC World Cup 2023

Australia have survived the early blip to their ICC World Cup 2023 campaign. The Aussies were down with two consecutive losses, however, as they say never rule the Aussies out of the World Cup. Rightly justifying that statement, Australia have won four games on the trot to put their campaign on track.

New Zealand on the other hand, have had a decent show so far in the World Cup. After playing six games, New Zealand have managed to win four, owing to which they are placed third in the ICC World Cup 2023 Points Table.

India and England are undergoing contrasting campaigns in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. India, on one side, has been a team to beat, while England has had multiple challenges on their way.

The defending champions have just managed to get a solitary victory in the tournament so far after playing out five matches. They have been trumped by feeble teams like Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.

Now the situation has turned worse for the English as they are on the brink of elimination from the ICC World Cup 2023. Any more losses from here on would mean they are no longer a strong contender to enter the semis.

On the other hand, India has made its case stronger and stronger in the ICC World Cup 2023. The team has ticked all the boxes so far and is expected to comfortably enter the World Cup semis.

IND vs ENG: Three Changes That India Might Make For Next Match Against England | India vs England ICC World Cup 2023

IND vs ENG World Cup 2023: Following three losses on the trot, England will face the heavy-weight Indian side in its next encounter scheduled for tomorrow (October 29) in Lucknow. The India vs England contest is touted to be make or break as we barge into the important phase of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. This article will talk you through three changes that India might make for the next match against England.

The hosts, India, have been impeccable so far in the ICC World Cup 2023. India are the only team that is yet to falter on the big stage and it remains to be seen how the team fares from here.

With five victories in as many matches, India is comfortably heading into the semi-finals of the ICC World Cup 2023. With a couple of victories more, the Men in Blue will be through to feature in the next round.

While all this time, India seemed in good shape to head further in the tournament, a concern has developed in the team with the injury to all-rounder Hardik Pandya, whose replacement is not available in the chosen Indian squad.

Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle blow during India’s game against Bangladesh in Pune. The all-rounder was immediately withdrawn from the contest and was taken for the scans. Although Rohit Sharma mentioned that nothing serious has happened to Hardik, the recent developments on the injury have struck the team.

The all-rounder is suspected to have a Grade 1 ligament tear which takes at least a fortnight to heal. He will remain at the NCA for the time being and reportedly the team is willing to wait for his return and thus not asking for a replacement.

Hardik’s absence pushed India to bring in a couple of changes to the team. With him available, India usually has six bowling options. Moreover, he is also a fantastic batter, who provides depth in the team.

Rohit Sharma and management brought in Suryakumar Yadav to cover Hardik Pandya’s batting prowesses, while in the bowling front, Shardul Thakur was replaced by Mohammad Shami.

In the next game against England, India is again set to have a couple more changes to the team. Let’s have a look at Three Changes That India Might Make For Next Match Against England.

IND vs ENG: Three Changes For India vs England

1 – Suryakumar Yadav to replace Hardik Pandya

Hardik is a vital cog for India in both the bowling and batting departments. His abilities at the back end aid India in playing fearless cricket at the top. Moreover, if there is a collapse at the top, he can provide the necessary rescue assistance and put the team back on track.

The hosts brought Suryakumar Yadav into the playing 11 for the game against New Zealand in place of Hardik Pandya, however, the batter couldn’t contribute much as he was run out. There is no chance that the team would drop him given that it would make the team’s batting strength delicate.

2 – Ravichandran Ashwin to replace Shardul Thakur

Team India has always been a flexible side with some players at hand who can come into the playing 11 for specific conditions. One such flexibility is having R Ashwin in the squad, who usually comes in when there is a hint of spin on offer by replacing Shardul Thakur.

Considering that Lucknow’s Ekana Cricket Stadium has traditionally aided the spin, India will be tempted to have an additional spin bowling option in the team. Moreover, with him in the playing 11, the batting strength of the team increases.

3 – Mohammad Shami to replace Mohammad Siraj

It is going to be a tough call for team India and management to pick one between Mohd Siraj and Mohd Shami. Both have exceptionally fantastic skill sets, but the inclusion of Shami in the last game against New Zealand has changed the dynamics of the team completely.

While India favoured going with the pair of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj to begin their World Cup 2023 campaign, it seems Shami has put a case for himself with a fifer against New Zealand in the last game.

Siraj’s total wickets tally in the ongoing World Cup 2023 read 6 after playing five matches, Shami has picked five wickets in just a single game. Moreover, it can be said that with the pitch offering more to the spinners, Rohit Sharma might be lured to head with the combination of three spinners and two pacers – Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah.

ICC World Cup 2023: Pakistan achieves an all-time unwanted record after defeat against South Africa; Check their qualification scenario

Pakistan cricket Team are having a torrid time in the ICC World Cup 2023. The Men in Green are on the verge of elimination from the tournament. The Babar Azam-led side has faced a lot of criticism for their performances in the tournament as they haven’t batted and bowled well.

Pakistan recently faced a disappointing 1-wicket loss against South Africa and achieved an unwanted record to their name. The Men in Green for the first time in the history of the World Cups have lost four consecutive matches. Also they for the first time since 1999 lost to Proteas in World Cups.

Pakistan batted first and couldn’t really get going with the bat. Both the openers perished early yet again and the onus was again on skipper Babar Azam. The captain albeit smashed a vital half-century but couldn’t really get going as he was back after a good start.

A  handy contribution from Saud Shakeel (52), Shadab Khan (43) and Mohammad Nawaz (24) powered Pakistan to a total of 271 runs. With the ball, they picked wickets at regular intervals but couldn’t apply pressure on the batters.

Pakistan was on the verge of winning but failed to succumb to the pressure as they lost the game by the margin of just 1 wicket. The Men in Green started the tournament on a high note as they thumped the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in two successive games up front.

But after that, nothing went their way. They faced thrashing losses against India and Australia. If this was not enough they also were pounded by Pakistan as well followed by South Africa. Their chances to qualify for the semi-finals and are very loss and they would be hoping to make a comeback.

Pakistan have just a 7% chances of qualifying for the ICC World Cup 2023. However, they aren’t completely out of the race as they still can qualify. The Men in Green have three matches remaining against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England. To have a ray of hope, they first need to win these three games.

They need to make sure that they win their remaining games of ICC World Cup 2023 by big margins. After that, they would be dependent on the other teams as well. They would want Australia to lose all their three remaining games and New Zealand to win all their games. If the results come in their favour they might have a chance to qualify for the semi-finals.

ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Players with Most Runs and Most Wickets (28 Oct) So Far in World Cup 2023| Player Ranking 1 – 10

(28 October) ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Players with Most Runs and Most Wickets: South Africa are on a golden run in this ICC ODI World Cup 2023. In a nail-biting thriller, South Africa handed the 4th consecutive loss to Pakistan by 1 wicket. Aiden Markram scored a valuable 91 and became the second-highest run scorer in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. This post reads Players with Most Runs and Most Wickets (28 Oct) So Far in World Cup 2023.

South Africa topped the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Points table following their consecutive 3rd win yesterday and now they are almost through to the semis. The dominance of the Proteas is clearly visible as two South African batters are in the top of the Most Runs list and two of them are in the top 5 of the most wickets tally.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first which was arguably a good decision. Pakistan had a few changes in their playing 11- Nawaz came in for Usama Mir and Mohammad Wasim Jr came in for Hasan Ali. The batting order was the same as before and Imam and Shafique came out to bat. Shafique-Imam’s poor run continues and Marco Jansen got them both early. Rizwan had a heated moment with Jansen and kept the strike rate up but couldn’t last long.

Babar Azam also reached 50 but fell short after. Saud Shakeel and Shadab Khan handled the situation and took Pakistan to a competitive total of 270. This was below-par if you look at the opponents. Pakistan’s Leg-spinner nightmare is exposed yet another time as Tabraiz Shamsi got 4 wickets.

Quinton de Kock gave a brisk start to South Africa but fell to Md Wasim Jr. Bavuma, de Kock, Der Dussen, Klaasen, and Miller, all got good starts but failed to capitalize. Markram stood there and smashed 91 runs but got out when the team needed 21 more runs. After the quick dismissals of Gerald Coetzee and Ngidi, the previously untainted African team found itself in danger of losing.

PAK vs SA: Updated World Cup 2023 Points Table, Pakistan almost ELIMINATED, South Africa on TOP of the Points Table

PAK vs SA: In the first of many nailbiting finishes in the ongoing World Cup 2023, South Africa dismantled Pakistan at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, last night, and registered their fifth victory. While the win powered South Africa to the top of the updated World Cup 2023 points table, Pakistan are almost out of the World Cup 2023 semi-final race. This article will lead you through PAK vs SA: Updated World Cup 2023 Points Table, Pakistan almost ELIMINATED, South Africa on TOP of the Points Table.

In the do-or-die contest with South Africa, Pakistan scored 270 runs before getting bundled out in 47 overs. Skipper Babar Azam scored a fine half-century along with Saud Shakeel, who scored 53 runs. There were some other valuable contributions from Mohammad Rizwan and Shadab Khan, which helped Pakistan post 270 runs.

The chase looked pretty simple for South Africa as it was too low for the standards they had set for themselves in the World Cup 2023, but here the surface played a bit of trick.

The South African openers couldn’t do much on the tricky surface as both of them were dismissed in their 20s. Similarly, the other batters too, barring Aiden Markram, couldn’t get much help off the surface as they too were removed cheaply by Pakistan.

Markram was poised and determined to take his side home as he played a match-defining knock of 91 runs in 93 deliveries, but his dismissal opened doors for Pakistan. The wicket of Markram put Pakistan in the driver’s seat and they were the favourites to win the contest.

But, it was far from done for Pakistan, as they slipped towards the end of the innings. Pakistan required just one wicket to win the game and South Africa needed seven runs. There was tension around in both camps, but South Africa eventually prevailed and defeated Pakistan by 1 wicket.

PAK vs SA: South Africa on top of Points Table – World Cup 2023

Pakistan’s loss against South Africa has nearly put them on the brink of elimination from the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. As per the latest points table, Pakistan is seated in sixth place with just two wins from six matches. Three matches are still to go for them, and Pakistan will aim to win all of them in order to contend for the semi-finals.

South Africa, on the other hand, is placed comfortably at the top of the World Cup 2023 points table with five victories from six matches. The Proteas will easily move to the semis of the ongoing tournament even if they get defeated in a couple of their next games.
