ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Points Table, India moves to TOP of World Cup 2023 Points Table after India vs Pakistan

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Points Table: The most anticipated India vs Pakistan fixture has gone the hosts’ way at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Rohit Sharma-led Team India belted Pakistan by seven wickets to bring up their third consecutive victory in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. With the win, India took a leap in the Points Table. This article will lead you through the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Points Table, India moves to TOP of World Cup 2023 Points Table after India vs Pakistan.

It’s now 8-0 in India’s favor as the Men in Blue continue their one-sided dominance over Pakistan in the ODI World Cups. The envious record continues to soar as Team India secures yet another comfortable win over arch-rival Pakistan.

After inviting the visitors to bat first in Ahmedabad, India got off to a decent start with Mohammad Siraj producing the first breakthrough in the eighth over. Abdullah Shafique was dismissed with a total score of 41 runs. A small partnership between Babar Azam and Imam ul Haq began to build, but Hardik Pandya produced a magic delivery in the 13th over to get rid of Imam.

Post the second dismissal, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam tried to stabilize the innings and were somewhat successful in it. The two batters added 80 runs in the partnership, but after Babar completed his half-century, he was removed by Mohammad Siraj.

Jasprit Bumrah, who was brought back to dismiss Rizwan, did exactly what was expected of him. The ace pacer deceived Rizwan, batting at 49, at a score of 168 runs.

Post Rizwan’s wicket, it was just one-sided traffic from the Indian side as the Indian bowlers rattled through the remaining batting lineup of Pakistan. The entire Pakistani unit was bundled out for a mere 191 runs in 42.5 overs.

The target was comfortable for India and it was always going to be the Indian team that would prevail in such situations. Skipper Rohit Sharma led the chase from the front as he scored a healthy 84 runs in just 63 deliveries. Pakistan had some success as they removed Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli at a score of 16 each, but the target was too easy to put pressure on the Indians.

Shreyas Iyer later scored a half-century to take India home against Pakistan. Team India won the contest by seven wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium with over 19 overs to spare.

Owing to this massive win at the cricket’s Colosseum, India jumped to the top of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Points Table. Below is the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Points Table, India moves to TOP of World Cup 2023 Points Table after India vs Pakistan.

Kane Williamson ruled out for ICC World Cup 2023 Matches, to be available later | New Zealand Updated Squad for World Cup 2023

Kane Williamson ruled out for ICC World Cup 2023 Matches, to be available later | New Zealand Updated Squad for World Cup 2023: In a very unfortunate incident for New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, who was originally recovering from an ACL tear, he has now copped a blow on his left thumb owing to which he is set to miss a major part of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 in India. The development was confirmed by the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) on Saturday (October 14).

A day post the New Zealand vs Bangladesh clash at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, Kane Williamson’s left thumb scans were revealed, which indicated an “undisplaced fracture.”

Kane Williamson suffered a hit on his hand while completing a run during the New Zealand vs Bangladesh fixture on October 13. At the start of the 38th over in the game, Williamson’s hand was seen with bandages. However, later the Kiwi skipper retired hurt in the 39th over.

Notably, Williamson played a key role in getting New Zealand to their third straight win in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. Before getting retired hurt, the Kiwi skipper played a valiant knock of 78 runs in 108 deliveries.

In fact, this was Kane Williamson’s comeback game after he missed the earlier two New Zealand fixtures in the World Cup 2023 as he was recovering from an ACL tear, which he suffered during the Tata IPL 2023. With a fresh fracture on his left thumb now, Williamson will nurse both of his injuries simultaneously.

Kane Williamson ruled out for 1st half of ICC World Cup 2023

In a statement release, the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) confirmed that Williamson will miss the upcoming games of the ICC World Cup 2023. However, the batter will continue to remain with the side with an aim to be available for the back-end of the tournament, next month.

“An X-ray has confirmed an undisplaced fracture to Kane Williamson’s left thumb after he was struck by a throw while running between the wickets in Friday’s match against Bangladesh in Chennai,” said NZC on Saturday.

“Williamson will remain in the BLACKCAPS ICC Cricket World Cup squad with the aim of being available for the back end of pool play next month,” it added.

As an initial cover for Kane Williamson, New Zealand have flown in Wellington Firebirds batter Tom Blundell to India. The batter, although, will not be part of the official squad, will travel with the contingent for the remainder of the tournament in India.

New Zealand head coach Gary Stead said there is still some optimism in the squad after the initial scans on Williamson. He said: “Firstly, we’re all feeling for Kane to have this occur after all his hard work to return from his knee injury.”

“While it’s disappointing news, the initial diagnosis has given us some optimism he can still feature later in the pool play following a period of rest and rehabilitation,” Stead added.

ICC World Cup 2023 Points Table Updated (October 14): India on 3rd Spot, New Zealand at TOP with 3 Wins

ICC World Cup 2023 Points Table: New Zealand seals their third consecutive game of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 to remain atop the ICC World Cup 2023 Points Table. The Kiwis defeated Bangladesh by eight wickets in the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and continued their winning run in the World Cup 2023. Batting first, Bangladesh could score a modest 245 runs in the loss of 9 wickets after playing out their quota of 50 overs. Once again the opening became an issue for Bangladesh with Litton Das registering a golden duck. They tried to manage things and add a few runs, but the Kiwis were simply outstanding to outclass Bangladesh, last night.

Bangladesh was made to go four down at a score of 56 runs, however, the senior pros of the team came to the rescue. Wicketkeeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim and skipper Shakib al Hasan stitched a 96-run partnership to bring the team out of the death hole. But the partnership couldn’t go for long as both the batters were dismissed at a score of 66 and 40 respectively.

Later in the innings, Mahmadullah tried to add a few more runs to the depleted Bangladesh’s score. Mahmadullah played a 41-run knock in 49 deliveries and helped his team post 245 runs total for New Zealand.

New Zealand, too, got an early blow with in-form Rachin Ravindra registering his first failure in the ICC World Cup 2023. Ravindra was dismissed at a score of 9 runs.

However, the Kiwis had several weapons in their arsenal to come out of the early jolt. Opener Devon Conway and comeback man Kane Williamson 80 runs before the dismissal of Devon Conway.

Kane Williamson scored a healthy 78 runs in 107 deliveries and was retired hurt. Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips later did the rest of the work. While Mitchell remained unbeaten at 89 runs, Phillips scored 15 runs before the team won by eight wickets.

With the win, New Zealand once again climbs up to the top of the ICC World Cup 2023 Points Table. New Zealand has marked three out of three in the tournament and has become the team to beat in the ICC WOrld Cup 2023.

A little throwback to history that Pakistan has never won an ODI match against India in the ICC World Cup is the past. India have defeated Pakistan as many as seven times and they will be tying their boots tight to add 1 to it today.

India have defeated Australia first in this World Cup by 6 wickets where three of the four wickets (that fall) went for a duck but still, India managed to chase a handy total. KL Rahul’s 97* was the center of chase while Kohli contributed with his 85 as well.

While the middle order helped India to win the first match, this time it was top order against Afghanistan. India again got to chase a decent total on a ‘not easy’ track where skipper Rohit Sharma unleashed the beast mode and powered to a quick 131 runs which took India far ahead in the game very quickly.

Pakistan on the other hand, also won both of their match convincingly. An 81-run win against Netherlands in the first match and then a 6-wicket win against Sri Lanka helped them to get 4 points and a net run rate of just below +1.000.

This contest is going to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad which is the world’s largest stadium and it is anticipated that over 100k spectators will attend the match.

Down below are the IND vs PAK Weather Forecast And Pitch Report Of Narendra Modi Stadium:

There are ~5% chances of rain throughout the day. Humidity is in a normal range, hovering around 40-50%. Winds will gust toward the Southwest at the speed of ~6kmph during the day. Almost no rain interruption and we may enjoy a full 100-over game.

IND vs PAK Pitch Report Of Narendra Modi Stadium

The pitch at Narendra Modi Stadium regularly provides batters with significant assistance and a decent striking surface. However, considering the pitch’s inclination for seamers, the first few overs can be difficult for the batsmen.

On the eve of the match, the pitch seemed to be a black soil one with a faint green tint remaining to aid in binding. Teams will need a score in the range of 330-340 to feel fairly confident if the game plays even somewhat like it did on opening day, which is expected.

ICC World Cup 2023: Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings [Updated], Ranks 1 to 10!

ICC World Cup 2023: Men’s ODI Bowling Player Rankings [Updated]: Josh Hazlewood has reclaimed his 1st rank in the latest updated ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Ranking. He displaced Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj to 2nd number and took the top spot after their 1st match of the ICC World Cup 2023. This post reads the full Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings amid the ODI World Cup 2023.

Australia might be going through some rough phases in this tournament but the veteran pacer Josh Hazlewood is right on the money. He picked up three big wickets against India in the first match where he dismissed Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer in a single over and later got rid of Virat Kohli.

Against South Africa, Hazlewood sent dangerous Klaasen back to the pavilion cheaply. All his efforts for the team have gone in vain but his own numbers are improving. As a result, he gained 13 rating points and has retained the Number 1 ODI Bowling rank with 682 Rating Points.

After his magical spell against Sri Lanka in the Final of Asia Cup 2023, Siraj hasn’t served the way he is expected to do. Siraj took the wicket of Mitchell Starc in the first match and in the second match and he went wicketless and also a bit expensive against Afghanistan which cost him 5 Rating points and now he sits 2nd with 664 Ratings.

Mujeeb and Rashid of Afghanistan have lost their spot following a couple of moderate performances. Trent Boult sits 3rd now with 650 ratings and Mujeeb at 4 with 648. Another Kiwi bowler on the list- Matt Henry at number 5, who has been exceptional in this ICC World Cup 2023 tournament.

Adam Zampa saw a discouraging fall in the rankings following a string of mediocre performances which led him to slip from the 7th to the 10th spot. Kuldeep Yadav would be very happy as he is back in the top 10 with 622 rating points at the 8th spot.

A major setback for Pakistan is that their prime fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi has lost his place in the top 10 Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings. He was in the 6th position at the start of the tournament and following just a match of two, he lost his spot and now he is out of the top 10.
