IND vs AUS: KL-Kohli dominated as India Beat Australia by 6 Wickets | World Cup 2023

IND vs AUS: India started their World Cup 2023 campaign with a win against the 5 times World Champions Australia. India defeated Australia by 6 wickets at MA Chidambaram, Chennai to seat the first win of the home-soil World Cup. KL Rahul’s excellent 97* and Virat’s bossing 85 took India on top.

IND vs AUS Match Review

Australia Innings

Winning the toss, Australia opted to bat first which was the right decision as per the Chennai conditions. Cummins stated that they would aim to put a large total on board, but they failed to do exactly that. Indian bowlers were in the rhythm and never allowed the Australian batter to set in those 22 yards.

Bumrah was right on the money from the very first ball. He provided an early wicket to India sending back the dangerous Mitch Marsh for a 6-ball duck. Warner and Smith showed the experience after the early scalp and combined together for a 70-run partnership. Kuldeep Yadav came and sent him back to the pavilion when Warner started posing a threat.

Just after the wicket of Warner, skipper Rohit introduced Jadeja and he took Smith, Labuschagne, and Alex Carey within 10 balls! Australia were in deep trouble after 30 overs with 119 runs for 5 wickets. Kuldeep cleaned up Maxwell, Ashwin got Green and Bumrah-Siraj ended it all and India bundled out Australia just under 200.

India Innings

Slow pitch, just 200 to chase, in form Rohit and Co., and an underpressure Australian team; many would have thought India would win the match with domination but Australian bowlers stunned every Indian fan as they put India under immense pressure in just 10 balls of the second innings.

As Gill is unavailable due to medication and recovery, Ishan Kishan opened with Rohit Sharma and Starc had the ball in his hands. The fourth ball of the innings sent Kishan back to the pavilion for a golden duck. Definitely not the World Cup start Ishan Kishan would have been hoping for!

Hazlewood got the other end and took Rohit in the third ball and Shreyas Iyer in the last of the 2nd over and all of a sudden India were 2 for 3 down. The scoreboard looked more like a football scorecard than the cricket. Both Rohit and Shreyas went for a duck and now KL Rahul and Virat Kohli were in the crease.

KL and Kohli took time in the middle, absorbed the pressure, and calmed the condition first. They were cautious and active at the same time slowly cruising toward the target. Rahul and Kohli scored their fifties in 75 and 72 balls respectively. The inconsistency from the Australian spinners allowed Kohli and Rahul to rotate strikes and keep the scoreboard ticking.

When the whole India was looking for 48th ODI Hundred of Virat Kohli, Josh Hazlewood got Virat at 85 (116). India needed 33 runs to win when Hardik Pandya came to bat at number 5 and took charge against the Australian bowler. Though he missed his century by 3 runs, KL Rahul displayed an excellent and best possible batting show and finished match with a six.

India won the match by 6 wickets and as many as 8 overs left.

IND vs AUS World Cup 2023 Live: India bowls out Australia at 199 Runs in Chennai | India vs Australia Scorecard after 1st Innings

IND vs AUS World Cup 2023 Live: India bowls out Australia at 199 Runs in Chennai | India vs Australia Scorecard after 1st Innings: In what can be called a comprehensive bowling performance by the Indian team in their opening game of the ICC World Cup 2023, the Men in Blue have reduced Australia to a meager score of 199 runs before getting bundled out. The Indian bowlers led by all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja ripped Australia apart with their tight and scrutinising lengths.

Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, which is known to assist the bowlers quite heavily, has once again shown its true colours as we see Australia’s debacle against India. The Indian spinners took control of the game comfortably and dismissed the Australian batters one by one in quick succession.

The only viable partnership for Australia came between opener David Warner and Steve Smith, who jointly added 69 runs before the partnership was cracked up by Kuldeep Yadav in the 17th over. Opener David Warner scored 41 runs from 52 deliveries, while Steve Smith was dismissed four shy of his well-deserved half-century, thanks to a ripper by Ravindra Jadeja.

Post this 69-run stand, Marnus Labuschagne tried to stick to one end for a bit, however, he was eventually removed by all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Labuschagne could score 27 runs in 41 deliveries before getting an outside edge which carried to wicketkeeper KL Rahul.

Post Labuschagne’s dismissal, it has been one-way traffic for the Indian bowlers who have reduced the entire Australian batting lineup in quick succession.

In the meantime, Jadeja removed wicketkeeper, Alex Carey, while Kuldeep Yadav got Maxwell bamboozled. Seasoned spinner R Ashwin also, washed his hands, with the scalp of Cameron Green. While Jasprit Bumrah returned and picked up the Australian skipper Pat Cummins as he looked threatening.

Pacer Mitchell Starc tried to put up some runs for his team towards the end of the innings. He took on the loose deliveries bowled by the Indian pacers and added crucial runs to take his team’s overall score to 199 runs in 49.3 overs. Starc added 28 runs before he holed out in the final over of the innings.

World Cup 2023 Points Table Updated (October 8) after South Africa vs Sri Lanka, South Africa starts BIG, Highest Run Getter, Most Wickets, All Stats

World Cup 2023 Points Table Updated: While one can argue that the game between South Africa and Sri Lanka was done and dusted in the first half only, but Sri Lanka kept hold of their nerves and to some extent gave it back to the Proteas. Chasing 428 was not going to be an easy task, and not having set betters in the middle made it even more burdening for the Lankan Lions. In the end, it was South Africa that prevailed against Sri Lanka at the Arun Jaitley Stadium and bagged two crucial points along with a healthy net run rate. This article will lead you through World Cup 2023 Points Table Updated (October 8) after South Africa vs Sri Lanka, South Africa starts BIG, Highest Run Getter, Most Wickets, All Stats.

Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium was often criticized for offering a little too much for the spinners and the surface was not poised to play, however, the last night fixture between South Africa and Sri Lanka was completely opposite. South Africa scored a mammoth 428 runs in their quota of 50 overs with three of their batters notching up a century. In response, Sri Lanka scored 326 runs before getting packed by the Proteas.

Temba Bavuma-led South Africa won the World Cup 2023 Match 4 against Sri Lanka by 102 runs.

Batting first, the Proteas couldn’t get off to an encouraging start as skipper Temba Bavuma was trapped lbw by Dilshan Madushanka quite early in the innings. The fall of the skipper didn’t hurt the proteas as much as they had several big guns waiting in the dugout.

Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen joined forced and ripped the Sri Lankan bowling apart. Both the batters scored centuries in no time. With the fall of Quinton de Kock, Aiden Markram came at the middle and he too smoked Sri Lankan bowlers out of the ground and piled up a ton.

In the end, Heinrich Klassen and David Miller played some quickfire innings to take South Africa’s total to 428 runs in 50 overs, which has now become the highest-ever total recorded in the ICC World Cup tournament.

In pursuit of a demanding total, both Sri Lankan openers perished away in the flick of the time. However, Kusal Mendis brought the innings back on track with his sensational hitting which saw him score 76 runs from 42 deliveries.

Later in the innings, Charith Asalanka played 79 run innings in 65 deliveries followed by the skipper’s knock of 68 runs by Dasun Shanaka. However, all these efforts were not enough for Sri Lanka to go over South Africa in the contest.

South Africa post the dismissal of Dasun Shanaka quickly wrapped up Sri Lanka’s innings. The Lankan Lions could score 326 runs in 44.5 overs before getting bundled out and losing the game by 102 runs.

The win fetched South Africa two points in the ICC World Cup 2023 points table, besides a healthy net run rate in excess of 2. Below is the World Cup 2023 Points Table Updated (October 8) after South Africa vs Sri Lanka, South Africa starts BIG, Highest Run Getter, Most Wickets, All Stats.

IND vs AUS Weather Forecast And Pitch Report Of MA Chidambaram Stadium | India vs Australia ICC World Cup 2023

IND vs AUS: The stage is set for the hosts India to take on the 3 times World Champions Australia on 8 October at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The IND vs AUS is the 5th match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 and is set to start at 2:00 PM with overcast conditions. This article will walk you through the IND vs AUS Weather Forecast And Pitch Report Of MA Chidambaram Stadium.

India and Australia were involved in a 3-match ODI series in India a couple of days ago where India won the series 2-1. Interestingly, Australia have lost 5 out of their last 6 outings- 3 against South Africa in South Africa and 2 against India in India. Australia won the third ODI and got a little bit of momentum in their favor. They won their 2nd warm-up game against Pakistan whereas 1st against Netherlands was called off due to rain.

Meanwhile, India will be at the peak of their confidence and momentum. Though both warm-up matches of India were washed off, India have enough match practice coming to the ICC main event.

If we take head-to-head stats into account, Australia possess an edge over India. Where Australia won 83 times out of 149 outings, India have won just 56 times.

Both teams are going with one of their key player unavailable for this fierce competition. Travis Head of Australia is missing and Indian star opener Shubman Gill is doubtful. With Gill’s unavailability, most probably, it will be Ishan Kishan who will fill up the opening void.

Down below is the IND vs AUS Weather Forecast And Pitch Report Of MA Chidambaram Stadium:

It has been confirmed that the IND vs AUS match would feature a black soil pitch. However, spinners typically have a little advantage due to the dry condition of the surface.

IND vs AUS Dream11 Prediction 5th Match World Cup 2023 | India vs Australia Dream11 Team, India Playing 11, MA Chidambaram Stadium Pitch Report

IND vs AUS Dream11 Prediction: India and Australia are set to begin their ICC World Cup 2023 campaign on October 8 (Sunday), three days after the showpiece tournament began. The two sides will meet at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, starting at 2:00 PM IST. This article will lead you through IND vs AUS Dream11 Prediction 5th Match World Cup 2023 | India vs Australia Dream11 Team, India Playing 11, MA Chidambaram Stadium Pitch Report.

India and Australia head into the ICC World Cup 2023 with some expectations. India has been a formidable outfit for quite some time now and it’s never really a question to rule the Men in Blue out of any tournament held in any part of the world. The team this time too possesses every element to make a case for themselves and end its World Cup drought.

Australia, on the other side, have been a team that has ruled the World Cup events. They are the five-time champions of the ICC ODI World Cup and one can never really write them off even if they are not in their best forms. The Aussies are a big threat to any team in the World Cup and as every base covered ahead of this event too.

Though Australia lost a three-game ODI series against India, held just before the ICC World Cup 2023, they turned the tables in the warm-up games. Pat Cummins and his boys demolished the Netherlands in the first fixture and then went on to destroy the Pakistanis.

West Indies played decent cricket but fought well, especially in the second T20I match. Skipper Hayley Matthews will be leading the team, and again, she is expected to perform for her team but to win this series, a team effort is much needed against an opposition like Australia.
