Australia vs India: Team India refused to travel to Brisbane for the 4th test due to quarantine protocols

Australia vs India: Team India refused to travel to Brisbane for the 4th test due to quarantine protocols.

Australia vs India: According to the recent development from the official sources close to the team India, the Ajinkya Rahane led side is unwilling to travel to Brisbane’s Gaba for the 4th test match due to hard quarantine rules and protocols. The news burst out after five Indian players including senior opener Rohit Sharma were put under precautionary isolation due to a possible breach of the bio-secure bubble on Friday.

According to the reports from the close sources to the team, players have come to Australia after hard quarantine protocols for days in Dubai and the players are reluctant to follow that again in Brisbane’s Gaba.

It is over a month now and the players are not willing to travel to Brisbane as they would have to go through the same hard protocols of-days quarantine at the end of the tour.

Team India refused to travel to Brisbane:

“If you look at it, we were quarantining for 14 days in Dubai before landing in Sydney and doing so for another 14 days. That means we were in a hard bubble for nearly a month before coming out. What we don’t want now is to quarantine again at the end of the tour,” a source in the Indian team told Cricbuzz.

The source also told that the team is ready to play two games in a single venue or city- in that case, it means Sydney Cricket Ground.

“The whole squad are not willing to move to Brisbane for the fourth test if it means locking themselves to a hotel room again except for going to the ground. Instead, we will be happy to be in some other city, playing two tests at the same ground will be okay for us and returning home after series completion,” the source added.

Right now the series is leveled at 1-1 with two more games to go. India made a strong turnaround after embarrassing bundle at 36 in the first game.

The third test match will begin on 07th January at Sydney Cricket Ground.

Australia vs India: Team India’s 5 players were put under precautionary isolation by Cricket Australia on Saturday. Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma along with Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, Shubman Gill, and Prithvi Shaw have been isolated from the rest of the squads in Melbourne.

Recently a piece of news came out that these players have possibly breached the Covid-19 protocols set by Cricket Australia while eating out in the restaurant. However, there is no clarity from either side till now.

Team India and Australia are right now level at 1-1 in the four-game test series. Both the sides are at Melbourne before heading to Sydney for the third test match.

In the video getting viral on social media, Rohit Sharma, Navdeep Saini, SHubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw, and Rishabh Pant were seen eating out in a restaurant.

BCCI initially ruled out any investigation but Cricket Australia later released that the joint probe is on and all the players who were seen out are sent to precautionary isolation.

According to the rules and protocols set by Cricket Australia, the players can go out to eat but maintaining social distance.

Cricket Australia and BCCI investigating the issue:

“Both the boards, BCCI and CA are investigating the issue whether the players have breached the bio-secure bubble protocols and rules,” Cricket Australia said in a statement.

“After consulting with medical teams, the mentioned players have been sent to isolation as a precaution. The isolation will include separating from the rest of the Indian and Australian groups while traveling and practicing in the nets,” CA said.

“These players- Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw, and Navdeep Saini will remain in isolation for few days but are allowed to train within strict rules set by Cricket Australia and the Australian government.”

Australia vs India: Marnus Labuschagne says we need to be disciplined to put India back on the pressure

Australia vs India: Marnus Labuschagne says we need to be disciplined to put India back on the pressure.

Australia vs India: After an embarrassing defeat in the second game, Australia is finding ways to mark a comeback in the four matches test series. The third game of the Border Gavaskar Trophy will begin on 07th January in Sydney while the Aussies are finding strategies to counter the India threat.

Australian top-order batsman Marnus Labuschagne feels that the team needs some strict ways to counter the visitors in the third Test. Aussies have to be strongly disciplined to comeback against India in the third game.

“Indian bowlers came up with a plan for us in the previous game… and made sure they put up the heavy field on the leg side. Their bowlers bowled tight lines and according to the field. This slowed down our scoring rate as the players will be restricted to just one run instead of four.

Australia need to be disciplined says Labuschagne:

We (Australia) need to be utterly disciplined and come up with much better ways to tackle them put them under pressure,” Marnus Labuschagne said in a virtual press conference.

Labuschagne who is the leading run-getter in the ongoing test series for Australia also talked about the batting standards. He said that they need to do a lot better and keep grinding in that order.

“Rotating strikes and finding the right boundaries are something that is often talked about when facing any bowling department. It is always better for the batsmen and team if they find the little upper hand against a certain bowler,” Labucshagne said.

“There are a lot of things we are always talking about and staying on top of it. We are making sure that when we step into the field next time, we are brave enough to implement those when the situation arises. It doesn’t have to be pretty, Aussies got to keep grinding,” he added.

Team India missed out of some of the key players in the test series, Virat Kohli, Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma and now Umesh Yadav has been out of the team. Despite this Ajinkya Rahane led side made a strong comeback with eight wicket win against Australia in the second Melbourne Test.

Australia vs India: T Natarajan called as Umesh Yadav’s replacement for the two tests.

Australia vs India: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced T Natarajan as the replacement for pacer Umesh Yadav. The left-arm pacer will be with the squad for the last two test games against Australia.

Indian speedster, Umesh Yadav has sustained a niggle in his left calf muscle and has been completely ruled out of the remainder of the series by the medical team. The injury came during the third day of the second Melbourne Test.

The BCCI also clarified Mohammad Shami’s replacement for the series. Shardul Thakur was added to the squad replacing Shami ahead of the Melbourne Test. Shami has suffered a hairline fracture in his bowling arm and is completely out of competitive cricket for a couple of weeks.

Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav both will complete their rehab program at National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bangalore under the eyes of director Rahul Dravid.

Umesh Yadav during the second innings of Australia on Day 3 bowled just 3.3 over before complaining of pain in his left calf muscle. Yadav picked the wicket of Joe Burns before stepping out of the field.

Fans and experts were eagerly waiting for BCCI’s response. However, BCCI tweeted that the pacer is taken for further scans and the report will be out soon.

The pacer was not allowed to bowl further as India clinched eight wickets convincing victory a day before. After the win, India leveled the series with 1-1.

After the humiliating defeat in the first Adelaide Test, Ajinkya Rahane led Team India to make a strong comeback to win the game.

With the win, India remained in the second position in the ICC World Test Champianship however, a rise was seen in India’s win percentage.

The third test will be played at Sydney Cricket Ground from 07th January while the fourth will begin from 15th January at Brisbane’s Gaba.

Australia vs India: David Warner to play 3rd test even if he is not fully fit

Australia vs India: David Warner to play 3rd test even if he is not fully fit.

Australia vs India: Star Opener David Warner is most likely to play the 3rd test match at Sydney Cricket Ground against India even if he is not fully fit. Australian assistant coach Andrew McDonald said in the statement to risk Warner even if he is not fully agile.

Warner was previously ruled out of the first two test games against India after he failed to recover from his adductor muscle tear. Warner sustained the injury in the second ODI game while fielding and since then he is out of cricket. However, Cricket Australia has named Warner in the 18-men strong squad for the third Sydney Test which is scheduled to begin on 07th January.

Opener Joe Burns has been dropped from the squad for the 3rd test and Australia will look for a new opening pair and most likely Warner will be one of the openers along with Will Pucovski or Matthew Wade. Burns has an awful previous test that resulted in an eight-wicket loss to level the series 1-1.

“Warner may not be 100% sure. Who is coming off an injury? You never know until you get out there,” McDonald told reporters on Thursday.

“Look, if he’s 90-95% fit and the conversation is that he’s fit enough to be able to go out there and perform his duties for the team, then I’m sure that’ll be a conversation the coach has with the player.”

Will Pucovski recovered from his ninth concussion:

Another opener Will Pucovski who was ruled out due to a concussion is also included in the squad. He has cleared the concussion protocols and will be available to play 3rd test.

Pucovski had his ninth concussion recently and Australia will have to be 100% sure about his playing conditions. He will be out for practice along with his mates.

Matthew who was promoted to open alongside Joe Burns has impressed the management as he provided tight opening in three of his four innings.

However McDonald says, he is best suited in the middle order for Australia and we will look into that situation also.
