New Zealand vs Pakistan: Kyle Jamieson fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct.

New Zealand vs Pakistan: Kiwi pacer Kyle Jamieson has been found guilty for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct on the third day of the first test match against Pakistan at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui.

Jamieson was fined a 25% match fee for committing the offense of throwing the ball towards opposition batsman Faheem Ashraf inappropriately.

Article 2.9 of ICC Code of Conduct:

The 25-years old New Zealand pacer was seen breaching Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Players Support Personnel. Jamieson later accepted his offense and accepted the fine imposed by the match referee Jeff Crowe.

Along with the 25% match fee, one demerit points has also been added to the disciplinary record of the pacer. It was the first breach for the pacer in the period of the last 24 months.

The ICC keeps track of the offenses done by the players. However, the accumulation of three or four demerit points within 24 months can sometimes lead to suspension or ban on the player.

The incident took place in 75th over of Pakistan’s first innings when the New Zealand speedster threw the ball towards the batsman Faheem Ashraf in his follow-through after collecting the ball while fielding. It was later noted that the batsman was inside the popping crease and was not intending to run.

Pakistan is right now 133 runs behind the victory with Fawad Alam completing his unbeaten century. The 5th day of play has been resumed and Pakistan is desperately walking to win the game against New Zealand. However, they have lost 5 wickets.

Rohit Sharma all set to join the Indian squad on Wednesday says, Ravi Shastri.

Rohit Sharma: Star Indian opening batsman, Rohit Sharma who missed the first two test outings due to hard quarantine rules is now ready to chip-in to the squad. Team India’s head coach Ravi Shastri confirmed the news in the post-match conference that Rohit Sharma is all set to join the Indian squad on Wednesday.

“Rohit Sharma will join the party tomorrow i.e., Wednesday. We will access him and will need to chat with him to see where he is physically because he has been in quarantine for the last couple of weeks. The management will see how he feels before we take a call on him,” Shastri said in the post-match conference.

Earlier there was news to shift Rohit Sharma from Sydney to some other locations due to the recent Covid-19 outbreak in the city. However, he remains out of contact and was asked to complete his quarantine there only.

After some recent development on Sydney being the host of the third test match, the Indian opener will be flown in to Melbourne and will enter Team India’s bio-secure bubble on Wednesday (30th December).

We’re excited says Rahane:

Team India’s stand-in skipper also looked excited when asked about Rohit Sharma’s inclusion to the side after the second test game.

We’re excited about Rohit coming back. Spoke to him yesterday, he’s waiting to join the team,” Rahane said.

The visitors thrashed the hosts by eight-wicket in the Boxing Day Test Match at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday. With the win, the series is now leveled at 1-1. Ajinkya Rahane’s 12th test ton and Jadeja firm half-century guided India to a convincing win over the Aussies.

Rahane played a master-class after playing cautiously early on in the first two sessions. A strong comeback in the second game will make the visitors more confident. The team would want to take it to the next games.

With Rohit Sharma joining the squad, India will be more energetic.

The third Test will begin on 07th January at Sydney Cricket Ground.

Australia vs India 3rd Test: Sydney to host 3rd Test as per schedule despite COVID threat.

Australia vs India 3rd Test: Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) will host the third Test match between Australia and India as per the schedule despite the recent wave of Covid-19 in the city. Cricket Australia on Tuesday confirmed the schedule. The recent outbreak of the deadly virus raised some questions on Cricket Australia whether they should go as per the plans or change the venue, however, MCG was kept as the backup venue for the 3rd test match.

Despite the many difficulties due to COVID-19 pandemic, I am extremely delighted to say Cricket Australia remains on the pitch to conduct men’s cricket series as per the plans and schedules,” CA interim CEO Nick Hockley was quoted as saying on cricket.com.au.

We have been in touch with the governing authorities and we have met regularly over the past week to access the public health situation in Sydney and gauge the impact on border restrictions around the country. From the day we resumed the international game we have been successful in conducting the matches. To date, we have delivered safe summer thanks to our detailed bio-security protocols and the dedicated work of so many great peoples at the back end,” he added.

Sydney Cricket Ground will host the 3rd Test:

To be specific about the game, we have made the call to keep the New Year’s Test at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), which has a wonderful recent history of hosing the pink ball test and Jane McGrath Day on the third day of play,” Nick added.

Cricket Australia is confident on both the games to conduct as per the schedule announced earlier irrespective of the border restrictions. The third and fourth test will be completed in a safe and successful manner and will end the summer international program on a high,” he said.

Melbourne Cricket Ground was earlier counted to be as the backup venue for the third test. However, the recent development makes clear that the test series will go as per the announced schedule and Sydney Cricket Ground will host the 3rd Test between Australia and India.

The iconic test series is right now locked at 1-1 after India clinched the second test game at MCG.

Australia vs India 2nd Test: India thrashed Australia by 8 wickets at MCG.

Australia vs India 2nd Test: After an embarrassing defeat at Adelaide last week, India made a strong comeback to cover the past feat. Ajinkya Rahane led India thrashed mighty Australia by 8 wickets at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

India was right under control from the start of the game, brilliant bowling supplemented with prominent batting.

Earlier Australia won the toss on Day 1 and opted to bat.

Australia 1st innings:

Indian bowlers put Australia under pressure right from the start of the innings. Bumrah picked Joe Burns for a duck in the first innings while Ashwin from another end picked Matthew Wade and Steve Smith in quick succession.

Marnus Labuschagne could not convert his start to a good score as he departed on 48 off debutant Mohammad Siraj.

India restricted Australia to 195 runs on Day1.

The visitors also could not get a good start as Mayank Agarwal departed for a duck and the opening crises for India continue. However, another debutant Shubman Gill showed good intent and put India to a flying score.

The stand-in Skipper Ajinkya Rahane scored a well crafted century and took India to a good lead. Along with Rahane his scoring partner Ravindra Jadeja also scored a half-century to put India to a driving seat.

After a good scoring India gave a total of 326 for 10 in the first test.

The third innings of the second test looked like the replica of the first one for Australia. No batsmen from the host’s side could score a single-half century. Indian bowlers controlled the innings despite losing Umesh Yadav after some pain issues.

Rahane hitting the winning runs:

India bowled out Australia for 200 runs in the third innings taking a total of 70 runs to score in the fourth innings.

India lost two initial wickets chasing 70 runs but Ajinkya Rahane and Shubman Gill rotated the strike and took India to winning runs. Stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane took the winning runs.

Jasprit Bumrah picked 6 wickets in the test, Mohammad Siraj and Ravi Ashwin picked 5 wickets each.

Ajinkya Rahane was given the Man of the Match award for his great captaincy and brilliant century at MCG.

With the win, India leveled the scores to 1-1. Both the sides will head-on for the third Test game on January 07. However, it is not confirmed about the venue that will host the third test.

Shoaib Akhtar Slammed ICC for not including a single Pakistani in the ICC T20I Team of the Decade

Shoaib Akhtar Slammed ICC for not including a single Pakistani in the ICC T20I Team of the Decade.

ICC T20I Team of the Decade: Former Pakistan’s speedster Shoaib Akhtar slammed the parent body of cricket for not including a single Pakistan Cricketer in the list of ICC T20I Team of the Decade.

International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the ICC T20I Team of the Decade on Sunday Afternoon and to everyone’s surprise there was no single Pakistani cricketer. Current Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam was the contender to get a feature in the T20I Team however it was not the truth.

Speaking on his youtube channel Akhtar propelled some fierce attack on ICC as they didn’t release the World-XI instead it’s an all-time IPL XI.

They (ICC) didn’t even name a single Pakistani player in the team. We don’t need your T20I Team of the Decade because you announced the IPL team not the world cricket team,” Shoaib Akhtar on his Youtube Video.

The former cricketer told the current T20I rankings is ruled by Babar Azam and he should be inducted in the side of 20 overs format.

I think Pakistan is also a member of ICC and they also compete in T20I Cricket. They did not even notice Babar Azam who ruled the T20I charts for years.”

The former pacer criticized the parent body of cricket for ruining the game for sake of money.

There is no one better than Babar Azam in T20I says Akhtar:

“ICC only thinks about money, sponsorships, and TV rights. They introduced two new balls and three powerplays (in the ODI cricket). Where is Dennis Lillee, Jeff Thomson, the big five of West Indies, Wasim (Akram) and Waqar (Younis)? Where are the world’s fastest bowlers and leg-spinners? They went away because ICC commercialized and materialized cricket so much and allowed ten leagues to earn more revenue,” Akhtar said.

“ICC just want to conduct two World Cups in three-four years and leagues… There is a big difference between modern-day cricket and 70’s cricket. If there is no Shoaib vs Sachin then what is the point of watching cricket?” Akhtar added.

“Babar Azam is the biggest player in the T20I format. He is the top scorer for the country, his numbers are beyond imagination. It is so embarrassing and I am sure after watching this video ICC will think that they have to announce the combined World-XI, not the IPL-XI,” he concluded.

ICC’s T20I Team of the Decade:

Rohit Sharma, Chris Gayle, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, MS Dhoni (c), Kieron Pollard, Rashid Khan, Jasprit Bumrah, and Lasith Malinga.

It is a great achievement to get the ICC T20I Cricketer of the Decade Award says, Rashid Khan.

ICC T20I Cricketer of the Decade: The Afghan spinner is truly overwhelmed to get the most prestigious decade award. Rashid Khan on winning the award says, it is an honor to get such awards.

Winning the ICC T20I Cricketer of the Decade award is a special feat for a cricketer from an emerging country like Afghanistan.

The 22-years old leg spinner who has been phenomenal in the past decade has picked 89 scalps at an impressive average of 12.62. In the past ten years, Khan has picked three Four wickets haul as well as two five-fors to make his stance more solid.

I am truly speechless: Rashid Khan

“I am truly speechless right now for ICC T20I Cricketer of the year award. For someone from an emerging country like Afghanistan to get this award, it is a special moment for me, for my country, and for my fans,” Rashid Khan said in a video through ICC’s Twitter page.

Khan told his fans that he will focus on his batting skills too to score some runs there also.

I have been associated with International cricket for five years and my target is to play for 10  more years for my country and keep doing well. I have been doing well in the bowling department and in coming years I will be focussing on contributing with the bat also,” he added.

Talking about some memorable performances, he said, “I have so many memories in T20 cricket. I had 5 for 6 against Ireland, including four wickets in four balls. That was a memorable performance.

I can not forget my performance in the 2016 ICC T20I World Cup where I emerged as the second-highest wicket-taker. The win against eventual champions West Indies was also a memorable one. I took two wickets in that match and the wicket of Marlon Samuels was my best in that World Cup.”
