IPL 2021 will be delayed for at least 2 weeks with respect to the previous season.

IPL 2021: The fourteenth season of the Indian T20 League is confirmed to get delayed for at least two weeks. The last time IPL was played in India in 2019 and it started on 23rd March, however, this time it will not be possible to carry out IPL on the same timeline.

Taking into consideration the England tour 2021 and other domestic tournaments taking place, it is likely to get delayed.

IPL 2021 Delay

The Board of Control for Cricket in India recently announced the schedule for the England tour to India in 2021. India and England are scheduled to play four test games, five Twenty20 games, and three ODIs in the course of two months.

The series is going to be hectic as the number of matches is very high in number in less time. The first game of the tour will be played on February 5 in Chennai. However, after two test games both the teams will head towards Ahmedabad for the next two Test games and five T20Is.

The series will end on March 28 with the third ODI at Pune.

After a long and exhausting series of two months, the Indian players will be given enough rest to manage to workload. It is expected that the IPL might begin from the second week of April.

In the meantime, other than international cricket, the domestic circuit will also take place. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is scheduled to begin on January 10.

However, BCCI might be keen on conducting Vijay Hazare Trophy after SMAT 2021. Conducting a Vijay Hazare Trophy will give more room to the scouting teams of IPL.

IPL 2021 New Team/Franchise:

It is almost clear that Ahmedabad will most probably be the new franchise. The recent actions of BCCI to conduct more games at Ahmedabad’s Motera Stadium strengthens the statement more.

However, the introduction will depend on BCCI Annual General Meeting which will be conducted on 24th December.

If the party decides to egress more than one team, Pune/Lucknow/Kanpur will be on the list.

Yuvraj Singh: The former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh likely to feature in Punjab’s SMAT squad. The chances of Yuvraj Singh stepping into competitive cricket got increased after Punjab included his name in the list of probable 30 players who can take part in SMAT 2021.

The swashbuckling all-rounder had confirmed his retirement from all forms of cricket last year. However, Punjab Cricket Association asked him to play for them and Singh assured his presence.

However, there is no clarity for him to be a part of the game. “We are still waiting for BCCI’s response,” PCA secretary Puneet Bali.

The former Indian left-handed batsman also took part in the Global T20 League held in Canada after receiving NOC from BCCI. The Indian Cricket Board does not allow active players to take part in foreign leagues.

Bandar Sarn is another noticeable inclusion by Punjab Cricket Association along with Yuvraj Singh. The speedster had moved to Chandigarh last year after he was left out from the Punjab Squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be the beginning of the domestic circuit after the Pandemic. The opener of SMAT will be played on 10th January.

However, the decision for Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy is not yet taken by the board.

Australia vs India: Cameron Green to Debut against India if Fit.

Cameron Green Debut: The Australian All-rounder Cameron Green who suffered a concussion during the second practice game against India A might get his test cap in the first Day/Night game. Green could not keep his head away from Bumrah’s Straight drive and the ball struck into his head.

All-rounder is expected to practice with his Australian mates over the next two days and undergo medical checkups for any ranging concussion symptoms. The reports suggest he will break into the final eleven in the first Day/Night games, if he is fit.

Green might Debut:

If he’s passed fit he’ll definitely play,” Langer told reporters on Tuesday. “We’re just going through the concussion protocols.

If he gets fit for the game he will definitely play for us,” Justin Langer told reporters on Tuesday.

We are going through the concussion procedures. If Cameron gets through the procedures of concussion and he feels good to train, he will make his debut, which will be very exciting for the Australian cricket as well as for him and his family.”

Australian head coach Justin Langer said that the selection of the openers was getting harder and harder with time and he has faced it. David Warner and Will Pucovski are already ruled out of the first game and Joe Burns is out of form right now.

The Australian management was previously keen on Joe Burns taking the responsibility as stated earlier but this time it would get much difficult for him. Still, he would be under the eyes of management and his two days of training would be crucial.

We were not taking the suggestions to shift Marnus Labuschgane from his usual position of three, though Matthew Wade could be a makeshift option for the opener, Langer added.

Wade has got brilliant footwork. He has the batting for it and he can be used,” Langer told about the wicketkeeper-batsman who earlier batted at the middle order.

Matthew Wade can counterattack as David Warner does and a lot of the great openers do. He can definitely do it.

We just have to work out what the best make up of our team is going to be.”

IPL 2021: Top 4 BBL Stars who might get the highest bid in IPL 2021.

IPL 2021: The Australian professional T20 League, Big Bash League has commenced. This time it would be a great scouting opportunity for the existing franchise to get some handy players from the Australia T20 League.

If BCCI conducts the Auctions before IPL 2021, teams can build their core with the selection of better players. However, with the announcement of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020/21, the idea of scouting talents will come into force.

Top 4 Stars who might get the highest bid in IPL 2021:

Marnus Labuschagne:

The Australian batsman has been in good touch since his debut. He has been performing consistently for the Australian side. The recent ODI series against India performed quite well taking into consideration his shuffling position.

With his debut in Test cricket, Labuschagne is been with the Australian squad and is consistent. Looking to his consistent performance and talent, the IPL franchise might look to pick him and he can put franchises in the bidding war.

Moises Henriques:

In the recently concluded ODI series against India, Henriques was the stand out performer for his side. His all-round show in the ODI games made sure his side win the series.

Henriques has done for Australia what T Natarajan has done to the Indian squad. His bowling approach and batting at the deep can put him under the scanner of IPL franchises.

Glenn Maxwell:

Though the recently concluded season of IPL has not been a memorable one for the Australian all-rounder but he gave answers to his critics with his recent performance. Glenn Maxwell can be a destructive player for any opposition at any given time.

He can destroy the bowling unit like hell and pull out games into his favor. Though his IPL records could not justify his caliber, he can set IPL auctions to fire.

Matthew Wade:

The stand-in skipper for Australia in T20Is proved his worth with his classy innings. Wade fulfilled his childhood dream of leading the Australian side and also smacked Indian bowlers to runs.

He was outstanding in giving a flying start to the side and kept his nerves to convert starts to a big score. Wade completed his consecutive half-centuries in the two games.

He can be the one for those franchises who have struggled to get a good start. He can put up a bidding battle between the franchises.

Best T20I XI of the Decade by Aakash Chopra, MS Dhoni and ABD out.

Best XI of the Decade: The former Indian Cricketer picked his best eleven of the decade for the T20I side in the recent videos on his Facebook. Chopra left many prolific names MS Dhoni, Chris Gayle, and AB de Villiers aside, and justified his choices.

For the opening slot, Chopra named Rohit Sharma as the first choice and Australian limited over skipper Aaron Finch as his partner. He said Rohit has been phenomenal throughout the decade and I got no reasons to leave him. Rohit would open with Finch and Virat Kohli will be at number three.

Rohit and Finch as Openers:

So, Let’s start with Indian Rohit Sharma as the opener. He has smashed 2438 runs with an average of 32 and an amazing strike rate of 140. It is usually said that any player who has a combination of average and strike rate above 170 is a good T20I player. Rohit is not good, he is a brilliant Twenty20 player.”

To be Rohit’s partner, I have picked another right-handed Australian batsman in Aaron Finch. He is famous for his Finch-hitting. Virat Kohli will be at number three for sure. He is the highest run-getter in the format in the last 10 years,” he said.

For the middle order, at the number 4 slot, Aakash Chopra chose Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for his outstanding abilities. At number 5 he picked Joss Bullter ahead of MS Dhoni. Chopra said Buttler is a “game-changer” in this format.

At number 5, I will pick Jos Buttler. I was a bit dicey about MS Dhoni and Jos Buttler, but Buttler has scored 1551 runs at a strike rate of 140. He is a game-changer, let’s be fair,” he added.

The cricketer turned commentator then picked Glenn Maxwell and Kieron Pollard as his tow specialist all-rounders. Further, he added Rashid Khan to the squad as a sole spinner for the side.

Picking his seam options, Chopra went with two yorker specialists, Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah. However, he added Mitchell Starc to the side for his number of variations with pace and accuracy.

I will go with Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga as the pace options. They execute brilliant toe crushers, outstanding variations like slower, bouncers.

Last but not the least, I have gone with Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc. To be honest, he has played only 35 games but I couldn’t get another bowler like him. 47 wickets at 19.38 with an economy of 6.95. I made an exception for him as he is the only player I have picked who has played less than 40 T20I games in the last 10 years,” Aakash Chopra concluded.

Aakash Chopra’s T20I team of the decade:

Rohit Sharma, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli, Shakib Al Hasan, Jos Buttler (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Kieron Pollard, Rashid Khan, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, Mitchell Starc.

Australia vs India: Moises Henriques Added to the Squad, Sean Abbott ruled out

Australia vs India: Moises Henriques Added to the Squad to replace Sean Abbott.

Australia vs India Test Series: Cricket Australia on Monday confirmed the addition of all-rounder Moises Henriques to the side while Sean Abbott has sustained a calf injury. The Australia speedster, Sean Abbott has been ruled out of the first test game due to calf strain.

Henriques has missed the second three-day practice test match against Australia A due to a minute hamstring strain. However, Henriques cleared the fitness test on Monday to mark his return to the test side.

Moises Henriques Added to the Test Side:

Moises Henriques is added to the Aussies Test squad for the opener of the Vodafone Test series against India. The all-rounder was added after four long years to the injury-hit Australia side,” a report in cricket.com.au said.

Pacer Sean Abbott is the latest name on the list of injured cricketers from Australia in the ongoing tour. Abbott complained of strain during the second warm-up match against India A which subsequently ended in a draw.

Sean Abbott is expected to gain match fitness in the second test match which will be played in Melbourne from December 26.

He would not travel with the team to Adelaide and complete his rehab program in Sydney itself.

Pacer Sean Abbot will not join Henriques and the remaining Australian mates to Adelaide and will remain here only to gain full fitness and recover his calf strain.”

Moises Henriques is added to the side after a long gap. He last played a test game in Sri Lanka which is four years ago. He got his national call-up for the limited-over leg against India and right now is added to the test side.

The injury concerns will be a sign of danger for the Australians. David Warner will not be part of the first test while another young opener Will Pucovski has also been ruled out for the first game due to a concussion.

Cameron Green and Harry Conway further added to the list of injured players. Both the players suffered concussions in the second warm-up games against India A.

Australia vs India: Rahane would not be under real pressure, Gavaskar.

Australia vs India: Former Indian batsman and renowned commentator, Sunil Gavaskar backed Ajinkya Rahane for the leadership role for the last three test games against Australia. Gavaskar showed faith in the dependable batsman to prove himself without any second thoughts.

Ajinkya Rahane will be leading the Men in Blues against Australia in the test series. Virat Kohli will be leading the side for the first game only then he will leave Australia as he is granted paternity leave by the BCCI. In his absence, Rahane will take charge of the team in the remaining Test games.

Gavaskar feels, Rahane will not be under any pressure to lead the side against Australia.

There will not be any pressure, Gavaskar:

There will not be any pressure on Ajinkya Rahane because he has done it in past. Both the times in the past he led the team, he has won. He led India against the Aussies at Dharmshala and India emerged as winners. Apart from that, he led against Afganistan and India won there too,” Gavaskar said on Star Sports show Game Plan.

As far as his captaincy is concerned, I don’t think he will feel pressurized because he knows he is at the moment, only leading team for the three test games,” further added.

Ajinkya Rahane will focus more on his batting aspects. He had already begun that with the unbeaten ton in the first warm-up game against Australia A. It will be important for Rahane to score runs along with Cheteshwar Pujara to keep batting deep in absence of Virat Kohli.

…I don’t think he will be thinking about his captaincy role right now. He must be focused to score big in the tour to grab the series.”

Rahane would do his job perfectly, he knows the conditions as we saw his form in the first practice game. Both Pujara and Rahane will be keen on grinding the opposition as much as they can.

India and Australia will begin the test tour on 17th December with the pink ball Day/Night game at Adelaide.

Indian Test Squad:

Virat Kohli(Captain), Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane(Vice-Captain), Hanuma Vihari, Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha(Wicket-keeper), Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd.
