This is a regretful situation for both sides. But for us, the main concern is our player’s and staff members’ safety. We are in close dialogue with Cricket South Africa on how to deal with the situation. And surely will come forward with better options to carry our further goals,” Managing Director, ECB.

With the two unconfirmed cases of a novel coronavirus, the number goes up to seven in the six-match white ball series. Two of those happening in the host’s camp before the start of the series while five in the bio-secure environment.

At this stage, it is a really disappointing thing to take place. We are still searching how covid infected staff members, as none of them have left the bio-secure environment from 16th November,” Roy Davies, General Manager Vineyard Hotel where the teams are staying.

Our Covid-19 response team is going after all the facts and contact tracing is underway.”

IPL 2021: BCCI divided into two halves for the induction of two new franchises

IPL 2021: BCCI divided into two halves for the induction of two new franchises.

IPL 2021, BCCI divided into two halves for the induction of two new franchises, The discussion for the addition of new franchises in IPL has divided the board panel into two groups. Some representatives of the group think the inclusion of the two sides is very much possible, President Sourav Ganguly, Secretary Jay Sah are in favor. However, some think as the time is very less it will be tough for the franchises to jell-in with the existing teams.

The amount of time for the introduction of the new teams for the upcoming season of IPL is too short. Players Auction, Tendering, and keeping stakeholders on the same page is the most important thing. We are of the opinion, inclusion should be shifted to IPL 2020,” a BCCI source said.

Our broadcast rights deal with Star will end by IPL 2021. After the end of the cycle, we should introduce new teams so that the broadcast rights and other commercial partnership values can be increased. The final decision now will be taken in AGM only and according to me the plan to increase teams will be shelved this year“.

BCCI’s broadcasting rights deal with Star will be till IPL 2021. After the end of the contract with the broadcasters, we should introduce new franchises so that the rights and commercial partnership values should be increased. The final call will be on the Annual General Meeting (AGM),” another BCCI official.

Ten franchises mean 94 games in the short window of IPL. This could be hectic for the players as well as the officials. Either the window should be increased or the induction should be done with some rules to reduce the games.

IPL 2021 New Team:

In case the proposal to introduce a new team gets a green signal, Gujrat’s Ahmedabad will be the first city to be called for the addition.

The proposal for the new team will be floated into the AGM meeting, which is scheduled for 24th December. The inclusion will be with the approval from all the representatives from the state associations on 24th December 2020.

Even if two teams are added, Ahmedabad will be the first choice to be added to the roaster, while Kanpur, Lucknow, and Pune remains to be the second.

After the rise in the cases among the players, PCB to investigate the Covid in the players after they reached New Zealand. The Pakistan Board has issued a notice after as many as 10 Pakistani Players got infected with the virus.

The probe has been launched after some players from the ongoing domestic series- Quaid-e-Azam Trophy complained of cough, fever, and sneezing. However, the medical team and PCB called it a viral infection which might happen due to change in weather conditions.

However, after the tests, those cricketers were found negative in the following  Covid report.

Pakistani Source:

These cricketers were deemed to have a viral infection due to changing weather and laster also tested negative in the COvid-19 reports carried out in Lahore by the board.”

But somehow they tested positive in the tests carried out by the New Zealand officials after reaching Christchurch,” a PCB source said.

3 Players Rajasthan Royals (RR) might release ahead of IPL 2021

0

IPL 2021: 3 Players Rajasthan Royals (RR) might release ahead of IPL 2021.

After failing in the must-win games, once again Rajasthan Royals failed to qualify for Playoffs in the thirteenth edition of the Indian T20 League. Despite winning two back to back games on the trot at the start of the season, Rajasthan missed out at the end of the league stages.

Having equipped with world-class overseas players, the Rajasthan-based IPL franchise lacked an Indian core which cost them the tournament. Finishing at the last in the league stage, for one-time title winners is a disappointing performance for the fans.

However, as the 2021 Auction takes place RR will certainly look to get some quality Indian players to establish the core, releasing some players to free up slots for the new signings.

Here is the list of 3 players Rajasthan Royals (RR) might release ahead of IPL 2021.

3 Players Rajasthan Royals (RR) might release ahead of IPL 2021:

#3. Andrew Tye:

Andrew Tye

The expectations from the Australia pacer were high as he emerged as the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2018. However, the speedster failed to create much impact in the recently concluded Indian T20 League.

RR gave Andrew Tye a chance to make an impact but the pacer failed miserably. He conceded 50 runs in just 4 overs given to him. Rajasthan later dropped him from the side for the rest of the season.

With Jofra Archer taking complete control for the pace attack, Tye is unlikely to break into the playing 11. However, IPL has the rule to play just four overseas players, with the likes of Smith, Buttler, Stokes, and Archer, Tye will rarely get a chance.

#2. Jaydev Unadkat:

Jaydev Unadkat

The premier Indian Pacer got the expensive bid in 2018 IPL where he fetched whopping 11.5 Crore rupees. However, Rajasthan released him ahead of the next season and brought him again at a much cheaper price. Releasing him twice in back to back seasons and bringing him again, the franchise has shown faith in the pacer.

Despite an expensive bid, the pacer could not perform till expectations for RR. In the recently concluded IPL, Jayadev picked four scalps in seven games. The franchise might look for a much better pacer in that price range.

#1. Robin Uthappa:

Robin-Uthappa
Robin-Uthappa

Known as “The Walking Assassin”, Robin Uthappa seems to have off days during the much awaited IPL season. After releasing by Shahrukh Khan owned KKR, Rajasthan brought the Indian batsman to add steel to the middle order.

Playing at the middle order, Uthappa could not make much of it, however he was later given a chance to open. Robin was successful in giving a flying start to the innings but converting it to a big total was still a movie to watch.

In the 12 outings with Rajasthan Royals, Uthappa could only manage mere 196 runs. With the Auctions coming up, RR might release him to pick better and young batsmen to add firepower to the squad.
