Post Match Presentation:

Rohit Sharma | Losing captain:

Not the day we want to remember, probably our worst performance of the season. We wanted to try a few things, it didn’t go our way. We knew dew was going to play a factor and we wanted to take the toss out of consideration, but we didn’t play good cricket today. I was happy to be back, it’s been a while. I’m looking forward to play few more games here, let’s see what happens. It (hamstring) is fine, absolutely. We play at Wankhede where there’s dew in the second innings. You have to back your skills, and believe that you can get people out. They played good shots in the powerplay, and that helped them. If you take wickets in the Powerplay, even if there is dew, it can put pressure on the opposition.

It’s a very funny format. It’s always nice to forget was has happened, and focus on the present. They (Delhi) are a good side, so it will be a good challenge to face them. You want to leave this performance behind as quickly as possible. We’ll get back to the drawing board and figure things out.

David Warner | Winning captain:

It feels good now after that dreadful loss against KXIP. They rested a few players but to hold them to 150 on this ground was great. A lot of credit goes to the bowlers, Nadeem was superb. We were trying to be as clinical with the bat then, and it feels good. We try and put our best foot forward, and that stems from the franchise owners. They are great people and it is like a family. We have a never say die attitude and that is how we approach each game. We had a couple of injuries but they are here in spirit and we are doing it for them. Kane missed out due to injury last year and Jonny took his place, and was absolutely fantastic. But that happens in franchise cricket, we can play only four overseas players. We looked at 2016, we were in the same situation where we had to win every game to win the title. A dropped chance by Rashid Khan and his reaction shows how much it means to him.

If we can take this performance and momentum into the next game we’ll be really happy. I pride myself on getting my team to a great start. That is my duty, my job. Fortunately the last few games have been great and we have been able to go in a positive manner. RCB are a great team, very well led by Virat. They have a lot of danger in their side. We beat them in the final in 2016 and I am excited for the challenge in a do or die game.

Shahbaz Nadeem | MoM:

(On playing only his fifth match of the season) I have been playing like this for the last couple of years. It is important that whenever you get your chances you need to give your 100% and that’s what came out today. I have been working on the carrom ball for a couple of years and I thought it was the right time to bowl it because they have a lot of left-handers in their side. The round arm delivery doesn’t bounce much, but it also depends where it pitches – if it pitches on the leather it stays low and if it pitches on the seam it bounces extra. Today I was looking to get it to skid from the leather.

Contributing to the team boosts you. Everyone has been contributing and my job is to fit in. This is a very small ground but the pitches are turning slower, so as a spinner, if you pitch it in the right areas, it does work.

BCCI President hints update on Mega or Mini Auction ahead of IPL2021. Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI), President hints update on Mega or Mini Auction ahead of IPL2021.

As the Dream11 IPL2020 progressing towards the business end, everyone is keen on knowing about mega or mini-auction ahead of IPL2021. Just one game left to the business end and two teams fighting for a playoff spot of 2020 IPL. three teams have already been eliminated Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals.

The ongoing season of IPL is heading towards the business end, every team must have learnt about the weaknesses of the squad. All the franchises will be eager to fill the loopholes ahead of IPL 2021.

Chennai Super Kings had already told about changing their core in the next year IPL. They must be looking to include some big names. KXIP will also look to chip in new faces in the squad before the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. However, this all will depend on BCCI’s decision to conduct Auctions.

Sourav Ganguly on Mega or Mini Auction:

BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly on Tuesday, 3rd November gave an update over Mega or Mini Auction, “We haven’t decided anything yet. Let this season conclude, we will take a call,” BCCI president Ganguly was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times on being asked about player auction next year.

Sourav Ganguly also told BCCI will look to conduct next year of the tournament in India if the COVID situation is under control and the vaccine is in place. However, the UAE will be considered as a backup option if things do not go as planned.

The next edition of IPL is likely to start in April or May. “Hopefully the vaccine will be out by that time and we can host it,” said Ganguly on hosting IPL 2021 in India.

BCCI President Saurav Ganguly opens up about Rohit and Ishant Sharma. Saurav Ganguly provides hints on Rohit and Ishant Sharma omission from the Indian Side.

On Tuesday, 3rd November Board of Control for Cricket in India President, Saurav Ganguly opens up about Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma exclusion from either side for India tour of Australia. Rohit Sharma has suffered a hamstring injury and is warming the bench since the double super over against KXIP. While Ishant Sharma has been ruled out of IPL 2020 due to a left internal oblique muscle tear.

India will play three ODIs, three T20Is, and four Tests matches against Australia. The tour will start on November 27. The BCCI released the squads for the respective formats last week, the major concern was the exclusion of India’s limited over Vice-Captain. Rohit is not named in any of the squads so is Ishant Sharma.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma was seen in the nets in Mumbai Indians camp in UAE after the release of Squads. However, BCCI officials said that their medical team is closely monitoring Rohit’s fitness.

Saurav Ganguly’s Statement:

“Australia in Australia is always tough. They will be a lot stronger with (Steve) Smith and (David) Warner back. Players like (Marnus) Labuschagne have become better,” Ganguly said. “It will be a good test for India, but they are capable of winning. It will be a good series.”

“It’s a 50-50 chance for both teams. Runs on the board will be important. Whoever bats well will win the series,” the former captain added. “India has a pace attack to match Australia. There is (Jasprit) Bumrah, (Mohammed) Shami, (Navdeep) Saini. The attack is as good as Australia’s.”

“We are monitoring Ishant and Rohit. Ishant is not completely out. He will become a part of the Test series,” he said. “With Rohit, we want him fit for Australia. At some stage, if he is fit, I am sure the selectors will rethink his position.” “They can be sent later. There are flights to Australia.”

DC vs RCB: Delhi beats Bangalore by 6 wickets to claim 2nd spot, RCB also qualified. Dream11 IPL2020 Match no 55- DC vs RCB: Delhi beats Bangalore by 6 wickets to claim 2nd spot, RCB also qualified for Playoffs.

Highlights(DC vs RCB):

Dream11 IPL2020, Match no 55 was held between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challenger Bangalore at Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi. The match was played on Monday, 2nd November to claim playoffs spot by both the teams. This was a very high-intensity match, as both the teams under pressure from previous back to back, defeat want to claim top 4.

Earlier, Delhi capitals won the toss and elected to bowl first. DC bowlers this time tried to put pressure onto RCB dangerous lineup. Rabada got the young Joshua Phillipe out in the powerplays. While, Devdutt Paddikal played a sensible knock, scoring 50 runs in 41 balls.

Delhi CapitalsDC 1

Virat Kohli tried to settle down but Ashwin picked him in the 13th over. Wicketkeeper AB de Villers scored 35 off 21 deliveries with a strike rate of 166.67. In the end some hard-hitting by Shivam Dube to get to a total of 152 – 7 in 20 overs.

For Delhi Anrich was the pick of the bowlers as he managed to dismiss three RCB batsman, while, Rabada got two and Ashwin got one on his account.

Once again Delhi’s openers weren’t able to make a stand for their side. The young Prithivi Shaw got dismissed in 2nd over of the innings. Ajinkya Rahane was sent at number 3 for DC. Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane took DC past 100 runs in 12 overs. Dhawan and Rahane were looking good and were expected to close the game 1-2 overs early.

Shahbaz Ahmed got Shikhar Dhawan after his well-made half-century. Shreyas Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane were sent to the dugout in quick succession by Shahbaz Ahmed and Washington Sundar respectively.

Rishabh Pant and Marcus Stoinis closed the game for Delhi Capitals in 19 overs. Delhi scored 154-4 in 19 overs. Delhi beats Bangalore by 6 wickets.

Till this time all the calculation for the Playoffs race between the two sides were accomplished. It was clear that both the teams will reach the Playoffs. Delhi Capitals are at number 2 position in Points Table and will play Qualifier 1 against Mumbai Indians.

RCB will have to watch the last match of IPL to get their exact position in the top 4. If Sunrisers win against Mumbai tonight,  then Sunrisers will get qualified for Playoffs and will be at 3rd Position, RCB will slip down to 4th slot due to Net Run Rate lower than SRH. But if Mumbai beats SRH, then KKR will get qualified for the 4th slot and RCB will remain at their position.

Post Match Presentation(DC vs RCB):

Virat Kohli | RCB skipper:

It’s a mixed bag. As I said at the toss, you come to games to try and get the result your way. Through the 11th over, the 17.3 mark was informed by the management. I think we controlled the middle phase really well and they could’ve taken the game away from us. We are happy that we’ve qualified. Top two would’ve been really very nice. But I think we’ve played good enough cricket to earn a qualification spot. You could say just before the qualification, the mindset was a little bit tentative. We’ve got two games to reach the final. We have a shot, an opportunity and that’s all we want as a team.

I’m sure the guys will be excited about what’s ahead for us. We can be more more brave with the bat in pockets. With the ball, we were decent, probably we could have a strong Powerplay which is our strength. If we implement those things, we’ll be at the right end of the result. It’s important to stay positive. There are going to be learning along the way, but we are glad that we are through. We’ll have to assess what’s happening, hopefully they’ll (Morris and Saini) be fine by the time we play our next game. And see how they go in the next few days.

Ajinkya Rahane:

Ajinkya Rahane(DC)(DC vs RCB)
Ajinkya Rahane(DC) | Image – BCCI/IPL

Ricky told me that I am going to bat at number three. It’s a good position to bat at. Our bowlers did really well for us. I enjoyed the partnership with Shikhar. The communication between us was all about intent. We weren’t thinking about any target. It was all about playing proper cricketing shots. I wanted to finish the game. We all know how funny the sport is. We’ve seen how things have happened in this IPL. Feels great to win in the end.

Shreyas Iyer | DC skipper:

Very chuffed with the performance. We knew it was a do-or-die and an opportunity for us to get to the second spot. We were really motivated. The teams winning in the latter half completely changed the scenario of the table and it was really commendable. Really happy with how the tournament has gone so far. The bowlers were really up with their plans and they knew what they had to execute. Nortje was really good and it worked out pretty well. Kudos to the way the bowlers bowled. We are one of the best teams in the tournament and we need to stick to the basics and if we try and execute our plans, the results will come.

Anrich Nortje | Player of the Match:

Anrich Nortje (DC)(DC vs RCB)
Anrich Nortje (DC) | Image – BCCI/IPL

I said it time and time again, it’s just doing the basics right and wasn’t about something special from one guy. Coming into this game, small things started feeling better and I think those small things, once you get that right, you get your rhythm. We were thinking to make them hit to the bigger boundary and stick to our plans against each batsmen. There was little bit dew at the end of our innings and we tried not to be predictable. Yorker would have been the obvious option and we wanted to change it and see how it goes and wanted to hit the hard length. Having a bit of extra pace always helps. All ready for the playoffs (smiles).

The Aussie opener announced his retirement to the CSK teammates after their last match of the season against Kings XI Punjab last night. He told his CSK mates “He would retire from all forms of Cricket”.

Shane Watson had already retired from International Cricket in 2016. Watson had an amazing international career as well as a franchise career. He has been one of the picks of openers of his time. He has been a regular part of the Indian Premier League since the inauguration of IPL.

CSK brought him in 2018 when he had already retired from International Cricket. The Australian opener was the champion for Chennai. He played a vital role in bringing the trophy back home in 2018 for CSK. He helped Chennai to lift the trophy with his crucial century while chasing in the final. Also, Shane Watson almost nailed the 2019 Final show, when CSK fell one run short to defend their title against Mumbai Indians.

Shane Watson previously also played for Rajasthan Royals in the inaugural season of IP 2008L. He was the man of the tournament in the IPL(2008). He also features in the Hat trick takes of IPL. Watson has also been a part of the RCB squad.

The Aussie opener hasn’t had a good season this time for CSK. Though he had played some good knocks this season too which includes an unbeaten 82 against KXIP. Watson made 555 and 398 runs for CSK in 2018 and 2019 season. Playing with an injured knee in the 2019 IPL final, he showed his character and will power to control the game.

Just two more games to the qualifiers this season, still three spots vacant for Playoffs. A mighty competition is definitely on the way in the coming days. Dream11 IPL 2020: Match no 56 will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians in Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah. The match will begin at the usual timings of evening matches 19:30 IST (14:00 GMT), 18:00 LOCAL on Tuesday, 3rd November 2020. Mumbai has already qualified for the Playoffs, Sunrisers will be eyeing to take to the top 4 this season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH):

SRH in the last two matches has cleared Delhi Capitals and dangerous Royal Challenger Bangalore easily. The win against RCB has been lifesaver for them. In the last outing with RCB, they chased down 171 runs with five wickets in hand and 35 balls were left. This much-neaded victory has increased their run rate to positive.

A tough decision to bench the most dangerous opener Jhonny Bairstow has resulted in the right team balance at right time. Bairstow’s replacement Wridhhiman Saha has done well for Srunrisers. Wicketkeeper-batsman Saha is successful in giving potential starts to the side.

Also the inclusion of West Indian all-rounder, Jason Holder adds much more strength to the bowling unit as well as the deep batting lineup for Hyderabad. Their bowlers are bowling at the right lengths this time. All the bowlers have been successful in restricting runs at the powerplays as well as at deaths.

The trump card Rashid Khan is been sensational for SRH. He is pretty comfortable in providing much-needed breakthroughs in the middle and at death on time. SRH will be high on momentum because of their last two wins as well as they will be full of confidence and mental strength to overcome the giant Mumbai lineup.

Mumbai Indians(MI):

Mumbai based franchise is looking pretty balanced this season. Having already qualified for the business end of the tournament, they just need to back themselves and have a great season. The major factor for Mumbai Indians is that their players understand their roles in the squad. They have been playing with the same squad for a long time now. Just a bit of change was happened to control work flow and rest the players.

Even in the absence of their regular skipper Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard is doing a good job for the side. Pollard has been absolutely magnificent with the bat this season. The openers in the absence of Rohit Sharma are doing well.

The pace battery of Mumbai Indians Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah has performed above expectations. Getting early wickets is their habit now. Building pressure in the middle overs and then damaging at the death. These two bowlers have nailed the show for MI. The spin duo of MI Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya are in good form. Able to pick wickets in middle is what backing them to do more and move further.

There is nothing to worry about for Mumbai Indians, No room for changes in the squad. Everyone is balanced and in their zone to perform for the side.

Post Match Presentation:

Steve Smith | Losing Captain:

We thought 180 was par. But losing four in the first four didn’t help. He (Cummins) bowled nice lengths and made us play big shots. Unfortunately we are at the wrong end of the result. We started well with two wins, we won two before this one but we were inconsistent in the middle we didn’t take enough responsibility. Couple of positives for us, Jofra has played exceptionally well for us. Tewatia pulled a few out of the hat for us, bowled exceptionally well through the tournament as well. You need to win those you should win. The BCCI and everyone involved to get this tournament up and running have done a fantastic. Hope we were able to put few smile on people’s faces, especially in India where it’s been tough.

Andre Russell:

It’s a good feeling to be back on the field. It’s been a tough two weeks doing rehab three times a day, was a bit painful. But, I’m happy that I’m back. It’s a grade two hamstring tear which usually takes 8 weeks to heal. The scan was very ugly. With KKR physio and doctors around me, it helped. I was bowling a few walk upon balls before the game tonight, and it felt good. When it (hamstring) is feeling good, that’s when it’s healing, and I don’t want to disturb the healing process. We have a good bowling (attack), so I can chip in with the yorkers at the backend, but for now I’m going to take one game at a time. As soon as I sweat and my blood’s getting hot, I’m getting out. We were waiting for the cricket gods to work things out for us. I watch each and every game. We play against each other, two games against the same team in a season. So, I watch on the phone what the bowlers do and the batters do.

Eoin Morgan | Winning Captain:

I thought it was around a par score. Every batsman who came back in and said that it was a beautiful wicket with the dew in. We lost wickets between 10th and 15th overs, and to finish like we did was really good. We were out there to be play a free-flowing style of cricket. That was the only way we were going to win. Especially with the dew factor expected anyway, irrespective of when it came. Bringing out Dre Russ in meant that it took the conditions out of the equation. We backed the guys to take a bit of risk even if it wasn’t there. That was one thing we talked about, leading into this game. We felt that a hard length or a good length was the best spot to bowl. We tried to execute that in the first six overs and I thought Mavi was outstanding. Obviously Pat set the tone early on. Winning the game was about taking wickets, especially early. RR are a side that are top-heavy and you need to get them early. Having that aggressive mindset was important for us. Yes, I was aware of the numbers (about net run rate) but you need to first get yourself into a winning position. I don’t think we could have done anything more today. So whatever happens from here is upto the Gods.

Pat Cummins, Man of the Match:

(On going for 19 in the first over) A lot goes through your mind. First few balls weren’t great. As long as you go back to bowling your best balls, it’s alright. Top of off is always that area for me, there was a bit early in there with the new ball. So, I was trying to get as many in there as I can. Not really, don’t think I expected to get all wickets like that. Some days you bowl well and don’t get luck, some days you get a bit of luck as well. Today, everything fell into place. I guess early on in the season, I put a lot of pressure on myself. As the tournament has gone on, I’ve got better and better. You’re always learning.
