Australia vs India: Two protesters breached the security during the 1st ODI at Sydney. “No $1BN Adani Loan” protests at Sydney Cricket Ground. Australia vs India: Two protesters breached the security during the 1st ODI at Sydney.

Two of the protesters breached the security at the Sydney Cricket Ground during the first ODI match between Australia and India. The protesters invaded into the ground, close to the pitch protesting against Adani’s coal project in Australia.

However, it took a good 30 seconds time for the security officials to escort the protesters out of the ground. This could be a huge breach of the Bio-secure bubble as one of the complainers of the Adani coal project came close to the pitch and showed the placard. The placard stated “State Bank of India, No $1BN Adani Loan”.

David Warner and Aaron Finch were batting while Navdeep Saini was about to bowl the sixth over when both the invaders came to the middle.

Adam Gilchrist and Shane Warne present during the incident pointed out the breach saying, “We have got a couple of pitch invaders protesting about something.”

We’ll wait for the security to come, get them and remove them.”

We don’t see any urgency from the security right now,” the commentators on Fox Sports.

However, this could lead to serious concerns on both sides. The respective board could be canceled the series due to security and Covid concerns.

Cricket Australia has made the playing environment good for the players by allowing the spectators to witness the live match. Sydney Cricket Ground became the first venue to host the fans after the Covid-19 pandemic. The seating capacity is yet not filled completely but it is almost half.

CA Comment on Breach:

CA commenting on the issue of protesters invading into the ground, “There were no concerns for the Bio-Security breach as none of the players went close to the protesters.”

The protesters in huge numbers collected outside the Sydney cricket ground showing the placard for their rights. However, some of the protesters feel that Adani Groups’ coal mining project in Australia will harm the environment. This could lead to global warming effects.

Australia vs India T20I: Who will be the opening partner of Shikhar Dhawan? Who should open with Shikhar Dhawan? Australia vs India T20I: Who will be the opening partner of Shikhar Dhawan?

With the unavailability of experienced Rohit Sharma, due to hamstring injury, for the opening position, there might be a lot back and forth in the playing 11. Team India has included KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, and Shubman Gill as the candidates for the opening slot along with Shikhar Dhawan.

Australia vs India: KL Rahul as a Opener:

KL Rahul who is recently given the Vice-Captains role, after Rohit got injured and was ruled out, is the first choice to open with Dhawan. The limited over vice-captain earned the Orange Cap with a flaming performance in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League.

It is clearly seen from his stats in IPL, that how much he love to bat top the order. In a recent interview, Rahul told that he can bat anywhere and will love to keep the wickets.

Batting order will be decided according to the format of the game and what the management wants me to do. I am flexible, I understand the conditions.”

Talking about his ambitions for keeping the wickets, KL Rahul said,” Management has not told me anything about it right now. If the opportunity exists, I will be happy to keep wickets for the next three ICC events.

Also, if Rahul is given the responsibility to stay behind the stumps then it gives an opportunity to include one more bowler or a batter, according to the need of the side.

Australia vs India: Mayank Agarwal or Shubman Gill?

Another opening options include Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill, if management does not want to open with Rahul. Both the openers failed to make their limited over debut memorable.

Shubman Gill in IPL 2020 was the only consistent batsman from Shahrukh Khan owned franchise. He scored 440 runs in 14 outings at a strike rate of 117 while Mayank Agarwal scored 424 runs in just 11 innings with a monstrous strike rate of over 150.

Agarwal who is the test regular now has made his mark in limited over cricket after his successful instinct in IPL. The Karnataka Batsman gathered praises from all around cricket fraternities.

Management will think of getting the combination right quickly as the ICC T20 World Cup is not far from here. Team India will definitely look to keep a backup opener for Rohit Sharma keeping his form and fitness in mind.

KL Rahul: Nobody can fill MS Dhoni’s place, happy to keep wickets for 3 ICC Events. Team India’s Vice Captain says he can do whatever the team wants him to do. KL Rahul: Nobody can fill MS Dhoni’s place, happy to keep wickets for 3 ICC Events.

Recently elected Team India’s vice-captain, KL Rahul says he would be happy to don gloves for India in the next three ICC tournaments. However, the batsman also mentioned that the management has not told him anything relating to the wicketkeeping role. The next three ICC events are to held in the next three years, ICC T20 World Cup in India 2021 and ICC T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022 while the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

Rahul also talked about MS Dhoni during the video, he says MS has done good work from behind the wickets. The way he rotates the bowlers especially in the middle is something every wicketkeeper wants to learn. There is a lot to learn from him.

Happy to keep in next three World Cups:

It helps the team combination a little more and it’s something I would love to do…if the opportunity presents itself and I can keep in three World Cups, I would love to do it for my country,” Rahul said.

The management has not told me anything and we are not going that far as a team. The ICC Tournaments are huge and that’s the long term vision for every side and country,” he added.

Going ahead with KL Rahul as a wicketkeeper, it gives room to include one more batsman or a bowler as per the need of the team. This is a great advantage to have. That’s probably what each of us wants.

I think for me, we are just taking one game at a time. So if I put up consistent performances with bat and gloves, it gives us an option of playing an extra bowler or an extra batter,” he added.

The way MS reads the game is very is beyond our imagination. He was in a different league all throughout. He obviously was one of the gems for Indian Cricket. Nobody can ever fill his place.

Nobody can fill MS Dhoni’s place:

Look obviously, nobody can fill MS Dhoni’s place. He has shown us the way and how wicketkeeper-batsman role is performed,” Rahul said.

For me, I have a decent friendship with Kuldeep, Jaddu and Chahal. I can go and guide them, what’s the better length and where exactly the ball needs to be pitched. Anybody in this role of wicketkeeping has to take the responsibility to guide the bowlers.”

Rahul played against New Zealand where he kept the wickets. He enjoyed the series by scoring good innings and performing decently behind the wickets. This has been the touring point for Rahul’s career.

I was given an opportunity to keep wickets against New Zealand and quite enjoyed it. Hopefully, I can do a lot better at analyzing and reading the game and give captains and bowlers valuable feedback,” he said.
