Indian skipper Virat Kohli slips down to 3rd place in the Latest ICC Test Batsmen Rankings.

ICC Test Batsmen Rankings: Team India’s skipper Virat Kohli slips down to third place after ICC released the latest rankings in the test format. Australian batsman Steve Smith jumps over Virat to take up the 2nd spot while Kane Williamson held his crown at number 1.

Virat Kohli is at number 3 with 870 rating points in the latest rankings issued by ICC on Tuesday. Kohli who is blessed with a baby girl had pulled out of the last three test matches as he wanted to be with his actor wife during the birth of their child.

Steve Smith with 900 rating points is only placed behind Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson who has 919 points. Kane Williamson who scored back to back hundreds in the test against Pakistan took the crown for the first time.

Williamson also took his side to the crown as the number 1 test side in the world after back to back clean sweep of West Indies and Pakistan recently.

India’s Cheteshwar Pujara is ranked 8th just behind India’s stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane. Pujara’s 50 and 77 in the two innings of the third test helped him to jump to the 8th place with 753 points.

Rishabh Pant who scored firing 97 in the second innings of the drawn test at Sydney Cricket Ground jumped 19 places to reach at number 26th in the latest ICC rankings.

Meanwhile, Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin also got significant jumps in the batting rankings after long fighting knocks at SCG.

ICC Test Bowlers Ranking:

Talking about the bowlers ranking, Australian Pat Cummins held his position to lead the charts while Josh Hazlewood sneaks into 5th place. England’s Stuart Broad and New Zealand’s Neil Wagner are at number 2 and 3 respectively.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin have seen a drop in their rankings but they are still in the top 10. Bumrah sits at number 10 while Ashwin is at number 9.
