Suryakumar Yadav named ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year 2022: SKY has no limit! Suryakumar Yadav, a middle-order, unorthodox kind of batsman for India, is awarded Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year on Wednesday by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Suryakumar finished the 2022 season as the player with the most runs scored by shattering numerous records. Surya, the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year, had one of the best years ever for a player in the history of the 20-over-format.

In the 2022 season, Suryakumar made history by becoming the first Indian batter to register 1000 runs or more in a calendar year. He also dethroned Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan to become the new No. 1 batter in the ICC T20I rankings last year.
Suryakumar Yadav had a fantastic year with the bat, shattering a number of records and establishing a standard that had never been reached in the format. He finished the year as the top run-getter, scoring 1164 runs at an insane strike rate of 187.43, making him just the second batter in the T20 internationals to score more than 1000 runs in a calendar year.
Surya Kumar was spectacular at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, scoring three fifty in six innings and averaging around 60. It’s noteworthy that his strike rate was once again just there around 189.68. Surya, who had already scored a century back in the year, maintained his stellar year after the multi-nation event, scoring his second century of the year in T20Is in the bilateral series in New Zealand.
SKY blasted remarkable 68 sixes during the year, easily the most ever in a calendar year in the history of the game. The Indian, who scored two hundreds and nine half-centuries, was India’s primary hitter during the entire year.
Picking up the world’s top T20I players, you can’t skip Surya at any cost. Just look at those numbers: 1164 runs in 31 innings, with a nasty 187.4 strike rate and an average of over 46. Suryakumar made his Twenty20 International debut against England in 2021 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. In his T20I career, he has scored three centuries and thirteen half-centuries. The 32-year-old has amassed 1578 runs for Team India in 45 T20 International matches.
Surya Kumar Yadav, after receiving the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2022, said: “It’s a great feeling and 2022 has been amazing for me. From a personal point of you – I really enjoyed a few knocks I played that year. And If I had to pick one knock which I feel was special and very close to me, was my first hundred for my country. Because the first hundred is always special. Hopefully, many more knocks to come. Thank you.”
