India’s T20 World Cup 2022 Squad – Latest Updates: The upcoming T20 World Cup is just around two months away and every participating country is leaving no stone unturned in its preparations to win the showpiece event. This edition’s T20 World Cup will be played in Australia, starting October 16. Meanwhile, the high-profile matches will begin from October 22 onwards.
Although the host team usually becomes the automatic favourites to win the tournament, however, India, being a dominant side in world cricket, has all the odds to win its second T20 World Cup title.
The Indian T20I side is looking to fill all the voids to avoid any lapse in the performance during the final event. Unlike last year, where the selections for the 2021 World Cup were purely based on the current form and IPL performance of the players which also drew significant fuss for the selectors, the All India Senior Selection Committee is continuously testing all the players before finalising their ticket for Down Under.
All the T20I series that followed the Tata IPL 2022 are being considered as the selection test for the fringe players who want to make their cut for the World Cup 2022.
Although the majority squad will remain the same with senior players occupying most of the places, the selection choices of the fringe players will be an exciting element for all the fans and the opposition teams.

The likes of Rohit Sharma (skipper), Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul (subject to fitness), Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Yuzvendra Chahal, Dinesh Karthik and Ravindra Jadeja are confirmed to travel to Australia for the T20 World Cup 2022.
As per the reports, India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2022 and Asia Cup 2022 squad will most likely be the same. If we exclude exigences in the form of injuries, it can be predicted that both the squads for Australia and UAE will remain the same to maintain continuity in the playingXI.
Meanwhile, the latest updates indicate high chances of Arshdeep Singh’s inclusion on the Indian side. As per the report of InsideSports, Arshdeep’s pinpoint yorkers and excellent death-over bowling have impressed the selectors.
“He is a very talented bowler and having a left-arm seamer is always great. Arshdeep was brilliant in the death overs in both 1st and 2nd T20 against West Indies. He has definitely put one foot forward for T20 World Cup squad. We have to see how he does in the remaining matches and Asia Cup,” a member of the selection committee said.
