IPL 2021: 3 International stars who likely to go unsold in IPL 2021 mini-auctions.
Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: With the auctions of the fourteenth edition of Indian Premier League are around the corner, the existing franchise will be making their strategies for the players. IPL has been lifted many players and turned them into a world-class cricketer while the same league drops some of the international stars due to poor performance.
The franchises have submitted their full list of released players and will be preparing for the upcoming IPL 2021 mini-auctions to acquire few talents. It is for sure that the players like, Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Mujeeb Ur Rahman will set the Auction on fire but at the same time, there will be some players who might go unsold.
Here we will discuss 3 international stars who might go unsold in IPL 2021 mini-auctions, to be held on 18th February in Chennai.
3 International stars who are likely to go unsold in IPL 2021 auctions:
Nathan Coulter Nile:?
The Aussie bowling all-rounder, Nathan Coulter Nile has been dropped from his previous IPL franchise. In the delayed season of Indian Premier League (IPL) he played for Mumbai Indians. While there were only a few instances when the Aussie all-rounder got to showcase his skills.
Despite producing wickets in the specific appearances, Coulter-Nile ended on the releasing list of the defending champions Mumbai Indians. The coming time for him can be very disappointing as he is likely to go unsold in the IPL 2021 auctions.
Coulter-Nile is not active with any of his country?s national side and will be hoping to get IPL contracts with the IPL franchise. It will be interesting to see if any franchise buys him in the IPL auctions.
James Neesham:
The kiwi all-rounder has been vital in the success of New Zealand?s limited over success in recent years. The all-rounder contributed with both bat and bowl in the limited over cricket and his performance landed him to the IPL contract. Last year in 2020, Neeshan was the part of Kings XI Punjab squad for his base price 50 Lakhs.
The dashing all-rounder had a season to forget last time. Featured in five games for KXIP and managed to score mere 19 runs with two scalps into his belt.
With the poor performance in IPL 2020, the Kings management dropped the all-rounder from the retained list of players and he is likely to go unsold.
Moeen Ali:
The English-bowling all-rounder, Moeen Ali has been a brighter prospect for England national limited-overs side. Being the spin-bowling all-rounder, Royal Challenger Bangalore brought the cricketer for INR 1.7 crores, however, he could not justify his price tag.
RCB didn?t let Ali play in the most of the IPL games as he was failing continuously with the ball and was not that effective with the bat too. As a result, most of the IPL matches he has been into the sidelines.
This time too will be difficult for the all-rounder to break into the IPL franchise and will remain to see if he can impress any.
