IPL 2021: Aakash Chopra predicts the standout performers of IPL 2021.
Standout Performers of IPL 2021: Many Indian domestic stars and foreign players have been successful in turning the heads of the IPL franchises and have been picked in the recent IPL auction. However, their worth in the heated competition is yet to be seen. Ahead of the fourteenth edition of the Indian T20 League, former Indian cricketer and renowned commentator Aakash Chopra have predicted the fate of some of the cricketers who will be standout performers of the upcoming edition, according to him.
Chopra in his recent video shared on YouTube told that RCB’s Devdutt Padikkal will be the player to watch out for in the coming season. Padikkal had a dream run in his debut IPL season last year and has picked his form in the recent Vijay Hazare Trophy. The former cricketer believes that he will continue his form in the IPL and he will be an absolute delight for RCB and Virat Kohli.
“I will talk about Devdutt Padikkal first. He is the future of Indian cricket and RCB’s present. He is in absolutely red-hot form. I am pretty sure RCB is looking at his form very closely and India is also looking at it very closely because he is a long-term prospect,” Chopra said in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel.
Besides Devdutt, Prithwi Shaw will be a player to watch for in IPL 2021. Shaw had a horrible outing previously in Australia tour and due to which he was replaced by Shubman Gill on the test side. However, replying to his critics in style, Shaw smashed a brilliant double century in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy to announce his arrival. Chopra feels that Shaw is going to come all guns blazing in the coming IPL after all those hurts and bad time.
Taking the names further, Chopra reckons Mumbai Indians star batsman Surya Kumar Yadav will also have a hot season ahead. Recently, the cricketer was also named on India’s T20I side against England.
Three overseas names in the List:
The renowned commentator in his list of standout performers picks three overseas players also. According to him, Delhi Capitals all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Mitchell Santner and Mumbai Indians latest addition James Neesham will be some of the key players.
Both Stoinis and Mitchell Santner are in prominent form in the New Zealand vs Australia T20 series. Talking about James Neesham, he has hit scintillating 45 off 16 balls against Australia in the recent T20I game.
