IPL 2021 Auction: Would love to join RCB ahead of IPL 2021: Glenn Maxwell.

IPL 2021 Auction: Just 2 days are left for the much-awaited IPL 2021 auction and Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell had shown his desire to play under Virat Kohli for the coming season of the cash-rich league. The IPL 2021 auction is scheduled to be conducted on 18th February in Chennai and all the franchise will be all set to bolster their squads.

Maxwell had a horrible outing last season where he could only score 108 runs at an average of 15.43 in 11 games for Punjab Kings (Kings XI Punjab). The all-rounder also could not set the stage on fire with his bowling ability causing an all-round flop show.

He managed to pick three wickets in the whole tournament averaging over 50 and leaked runs with an economy rate of 8.05. Punjab Kings decided to release him ahead of the IPL 2021 auction.

I would love to join RCB: Glenn Maxwell

In the recent interview, Maxwell opened up and shoed his interest in joining Virat Kohli led RCB for the coming IPL. He said, he loves batting with Virat and it would be really nice to work under him. He also said that the Indian skipper has been very helpful and would love to play with him.

“I get along with Virat pretty well. It’ll be certainly nice to work under Virat and will certainly enjoy batting with him – that’s for sure. It will be awesome to work with him, and he’s always been really helpful to me along the journey. Whenever I’ve caught up with him, he’s been brilliant. So to be able to work with him first hand will be pretty cool,” said Maxwell as reported by India Today.

Maxwell also stated that by joining RCB he can fulfil his desire to play along with his idol AB de Villiers.

It is worth noting that all-rounder showed his show just after the 13th edition of IPL, playing for Australia. He smacked 167 runs at an average of 83.50 with a blistering strike rate of 194.19. With his performance in the ODI and T20I series against India, he raced up in the ICC T20I batsmen rankings and the all-rounder ranking.

RCB has second-highest purse value (35.7 Crore) after Kings XI Punjab. It will be interesting to watch RCB’s pick this year in the auction. KXIP and RCB will be the two teams that will be in full action and they can run after the players as they have a huge amount in the bag.
