IPL 2021: CSK best possible Playing 11 for IPL 2021

IPL 2021: CSK best possible Playing 11 for IPL 2021.

CSK best possible Playing 11: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) experienced the worst possible season last year where the team could not qualify for the playoffs. This was the first time when CSK failed to remain in the top 4 in the points table since the inception of the Indian T20 League. Despite the worst IPL, CSK found two match-winners in Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sam Curran.

The recent IPL 2021 Auction went good for the three-times champion. They got a couple of good cricketers in their squad. English all-rounder Moeen Ali and Indian uncapped all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham were the two highlights of CSK’s auction.

In this article, we will take a look at CSK’s Best Possible Playing 11 for IPL 2021.

CSK best possible Playing 11 for IPL 2021:

Top Order

Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Suresh Raina.

CSK found a bright prospect in Ruturaj Gaikwad late in IPL 2020 where he slammed three consecutive half-centuries. Gaikwad can open the innings and has performed well in his limited opportunities for CSK. MS Dhoni might also go with Robin Uthappa as he is more experienced.

While for the slot of the second opener, South Africa’s Faf du Plessis is confirmed. The experienced cricketer has been brilliant for CSK over the years and he will continue with his place.

Suresh Raina will take his guard at number three for CSK. After missing out on previous years IPL, Raina will be eager to explode.

Middle Order:

Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni and Moeen Ali.

Ambati Rayudu must be at number 4 for CSK. He has played some of the crucial knocks after the top-order debacle in the recent past. Rayudu also keeps the ability to hit easy boundaries in quick succession.

The skipper MS Dhoni will lead the way at number 5. He has been a good finisher and might swap his position with Moeen Ali in the situations.

Moeen Ali who has been brought by CSK for INR 7 Crores will come at number 6. He can be crucial for CSK at their home ground as we saw in the recent test game at Chennai.

All Rounders:

Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran.

Coming to number 7, Ravindra Jadeja will be an immovable force. CSK has taken the services of Jadeja and over the years they seem to be impressed. He is in his prime form lately before sustaining a thumb injury in Australia.

The young English all-rounder, Sam Curran showcased his abilities with both bat and ball in the IPL 2020. Curran performed outstandingly in all the positions for CSK and has made himself a bright prospect.

Bowlers:

Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, and Imran Tahir.

Shardul Thakur will begin the list of bowlers for CSK. Thakur being an all-rounder can provide a good late boost to CSK with the bat. He also has the ability to swing the deliveries both ways.

CSK will go with Deepak Chahar as the only specialist seamer in the playing 11. Chahar has the ability to ball in the powerplays and has been highly economical. His stats show that most of his wickets have come in powerplays.

Imran Tahir can be the 11th player for CSK. He will be the fourth overseas player in the playing 11. CSK might also opt to go with Krishnappa Gowtham instead of Imran Tahir. Gowtham can provide the stability with both bat and ball for CSK.
