IPL 2021: Mitchell Starc and Joe Root opt-out ahead of the IPL 2021 auctions.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: Australian senior seamer Mitchell Starc opt out of the Indian Premier League yet another time. Starc as per the reports has not registered for the auctions that are slated for 18th February 2021. Along with Aussie pacer, England’s test skipper Joe Root also opt-out of the Indian Premier League.

Both the players were reported to focus on their games and prepare for the upcoming World Test Championship and World T20I Cup.

However, Bangladesh’s all-rounder Shakib-al Hasan along with 1096 other players has registered for the fourteenth edition of Indian Premier League. All these players will head to the IPL auctions along with the released players.

Son of Indian legend, Arjun Tendulkar also signed in for the auctions at a base price of INR 20 lakhs.

As many as 814 domestic players have shown their interest in the auctions while 283 overseas cricketers have also registered. In the overseas slot, West Indies gave the maximum entries – 51- for the IPL auctions.

Mitchell Starc yet another time opted out of the T20 extravaganza while test skipper of England Joe Root did the same. Tom Banton along with Harry Gurney also didn’t show interest in playing the T20 League.

All these players want to focus on their techniques and want to make their place in their respective national Test teams.

Shakib after successfully completing the ban has returned to international cricket with a bang. The all-rounder was given the Man of the Match and Man of the Series against West Indies.

The Bangladesh’s cricketer has registered for the highest base price of INR 2 Crore while Indian pacer S Sreesanth registered for a base price of INR 75 Lakhs.

Apart from these, Harbhajan Singh, Kedar Jadhav, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Moeen Ali,  Sam Billings, Jason Roy, Mark Wood, Liam Plunkett and Colin Ingram all these released players have set their base price at INR 2 Crores.
