IPL 2021 Predictions: Aakash Chopra makes three predictions about IPL 2021 auctions.
Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: The former Indian cricketer and renowned commentator, Aakash Chopra makes three big predictions about the IPL 2021 auctions and their playing 11. The cricketer-turned-commentator is known for his bold statements and shared the predictions through his Youtube video on Wednesday.
Rajasthan Royals Prediction about IPL 2021 auctions and Playing 11:
The commentator feels that Rajasthan Royals needs a backup option for the three strong overseas players in Rajasthan Royals. “When talking about RR, they will need a backup for Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and David Miller. Sometimes they will have to come with all three in the playing eleven because you don’t have the services of Steve Smith. RR probably need a strong overseas backup for the three aforementioned players.”
Aakash Chopra when the playing 11 of RR, picked young Yashasvi Jaiswal along with Joss Buttler.
“If I had to pick, I would go with Jaiswal and Jos Buttler as the openers followed by skipper Sanju Samson at number 3 and Ben Stokes at number 4. Riyan Parag/Manan Vohra at number 5, a foreign player at number 6, then comes Tewatia at number 7 and from there everything looks settled for them.”
“For a number 6 overseas slot, I doubt that they will look towards Glenn Maxwell. They will either go for Dawid Malan, Jason Roy or Aaron Finch as far as I feel.”
Chennai Super Kings Prediction about IPL 2021 auctions and Playing 11:
Aakash Chopra believes that the three times champion will not go with Robin Uthappa as the sure opener even though he has been traded into the side.
“I doubt that if Robin fits into the playing 11 or not. They have Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni. Ruturaj can be the opener while the other opener with him is a question for now.”
“When choosing the playing XI for CSK, they have seven slots available to fill in the IPL 2021 auctions. I will go with Ruturaj to open with Rayudy, then comes Suresh Raina, followed by Faf du Plessis, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo, Karn Sharma, Josh Hazlewood, Deepak Chahar/Shardul Thakur.”
“The three-times champion can go with 8 domestic players but they will surely not. CSK need a solid overseas opener or a top-order batsman to fill the remaining voids.”
Royal Challengers Bangalore Prediction about IPL 2021 and Playing 11:
“Virat Kohli led side has 11 slots to fill and three of which are overseas slots. RCB will have to spend money because they do not have overseas players ready for the playing 11 right now. Overseas players in RCB – AB de Villiers, Joshua Phillipe, Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson, and Daniel Sams (traded).”
“RCB will surely go for Aussie left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc if he is available. They can give him 15-19 crores, they have that value in their purse.”
“Also, they will bid for Cameron Green as they do not have a solid middle-order all-rounder who can score runs at a good rate. They have let go Shivam Dube and they need one at that place.”
