IPL 2021: S Sreesanth not included in final 292 shortlisted players for IPL 2021 auction.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: Former Indian cricketer and Kerala pacer, S Sreesanth who had reportedly put his name in the hat for IPL 2021 auction have not been named in the final list of shortlisted 292 cricketers for the auction. Sreesanth was hopeful to get an IPL contract after coming back serving a long seven years ban.

The Kerala pacer returned back to the Indian domestic circuit after completion of his ban. Sreesanth was involved in the spot-fixing scandal during the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals and was handed seven years ban. The two franchise were also banned for two years following the spot-fixing scandal.

Sreesanth was recently named in the Kerala squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He played all the five games for his side and returned with four wickets in 18 overs he bowled and conceded runs at 9.88 economy. 

No franchise had shown interest in the former Indian pacer due to which he was not picked in the final 292 shortlisted players.

Ceteshwar Pujara who showed interest in playing IPL has been shortlisted under the price bracket of INR 50 Lakhs along with the son of Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar under the category of INR 20 Lakhs.

The shortlisted players include 164 Indian players while 125 overseas players. Moreover, three players from associate nations are also included in the playing 11. 

42-year-old Nayan Doshi will be the oldest pick for the IPL 2021 auctions. The son of former spinner Dilip Doshi has not lost his hopes and want to make his father proud. Doshi has an excellent record at domestic series. In the 70 first-class games he has scalped 166 wickets. He also featured in 74 List A games and picked 64 wickets there.
