Steve Smith might go unsold due to CA NOC plans:

With the Australian player will be up for the grab in the coming auction, however, his presence can be hampered by the Cricket Australia’s policies. Recently, Nick Hockley, Cricket Australia interim CEO said that they will issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the concerned player.

However, there was a catch in the statement, where Hockley mentioned that the NOCs will be granted on a case-by-case basis. Although, there is still no clarity on the set rules and the regulations on what basis the NOC’s will be granted.

Smith along with his Australian counterparts Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell are still on doubt to take part in the IPL auctions. One Cricket Australia (CA) release the set NOC rules, it can be clarified.

Apart from the aforementioned players from Australia, David Waner, Pat Cummins, Marcus Stoinis and Josh Hazlewood are among those who have been retained by their respective franchise ahead of the IPL 2021 auctions.
