The Gujarat Titans will be rooting to start their campaign. The latest commercial by Star TV Network features their skipper, Hardik Pandya saying that Gujarat is waiting to blast! The team was bought for 5600+ Crores by the CVC Capitals. This team initially drafted Hardik Pandya, the local boy, the Afghani maestro Rashid Khan, and the Dynamo from Fazilka, Shubman Gill. The team has Ashish Nehra as their head coach for IPL 2022. Here is a look at what the squad looks like and what the GT has in store:

Expected Playing XI:
Matthew Wade, Shubman Gill, Abhinav Sadarangani/Wriddhiman Saha, Vijay Shankar, David Miller, Hardik Pandya(C), Rahul Tewatia, Jayant Yadav, Rashid Khan, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami.
Strengths of the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022:
The best of the fast-bowling duos is owned by the Gujarat Titans in the form of Lockie Ferguson and Mohammed Shami. The backup for Mohammed Shami is Varun Aaron, another experienced Indian pacer. Their middle-order is also looking solid. They have Pandya, Miller, Shankar, and Saha. The spin department is headed by Rashid Khan and Jayant Yadav could be his deputy.
Weakness of the Gujarat Titans:
The weakness of the Gujarat Titans is not having a very formidable opening combination. With Jason Roy in the mix, the team was settled but without him, they might struggle. Matthew Wade can step in for him but Wade’s numbers don’t speak volumes. Vijay Shankar has had decent form recently but if it gets bad, they do not have a backup for him.
Opportunities for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022:
The opportunities are for many players. The first is for Gujarat as a team to make a mark on the grandest T20 league. They will have many eyeballs on them and their good performance can leave a lasting impression. Shubman Gill will be a leader in batting. Hardik is fit and hungry. He will be looking to get back to the national team with elite performances in the IPL. Abhinav Sadarangani is a player to watch out for.
Threats for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022:
The threats are many. What if Saha doesn’t stay fit? Rahul Tewatia also leaks runs at times. David Miller is having a decent form but what if he too struggles. They do not have a very big name in the mix who is proven. Like a Maxwell or a Pollard or a KL Rahul.
X-Factor Players:
Their leader Hardik Pandya is rooting to go. He is bowling at speeds of 135 kmph at the NCA. If Hardik can contribute to the fullest, he will take all the cake with him. On his day, Hardik is the biggest superstar to take the field. Rashid Khan and his mystery will leave the opposition in sweat.
