Both the amazing locked horns at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. This game featured all the senior Indian players in the form of KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and many more. David Warner and Anrich Nortje made a comeback to the Delhi Capitals’ team as well. The IPL 2022 is promoting young talent and based on those lines Sarfaraz Khan was also seen in the game. IPL 2022, LSG VS DC, Delhi Capitals Batting Innings:

The toss was won by the Lucknow Super Giants and they put the Delhi Capitals into bat. This move has been done by almost every team in the IPL 2022 season. But the results give a 50-50 percent rate of winning while batting second. The dew however is a concern at the stadiums near Mumbai.

The Delhi Capitals got off to a flyer. Prithvi Shaw was doing what he does best, dominate! Prithvi hit 8 fours and 2 sixes in his super entertaining knock. His inning was very overpowering and this can be understood by the numbers. When Prithvi got out, the team score was 67 and 61 of those runs were scored by Prithvi. It was certainly fun to see Prithvi tear into the overseas pacers of Lucknow. In the mandatory powerplay overs, DC scored 52 runs.

Their march however came to a halt with the fall of Prithvi. Prithvi fell and Delhi was at 67-1. Rovman Powell was floated up the order at number 3. This move was done after seeing the explosive batting of Prithvi. It was supposed to go well but Rovman was struggling with his timing. David Warner too had a dreadful comeback scoring only 4 runs of 12 balls before perishing. Ravi Bishnoi and K Gowtham were ruling the middle-overs with the ball in hand. They choked the opposition.

Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan then anchored the innings. They tried to capitalize in the final overs but Jason Holder was very clean with his yorkers. Rishabh, who generally scores 65 to 70 runs in 35 balls managed only 39 runs. But it was the good bowling that has to be given credit. Delhi finished with 149/3.

Brief Scores:

  • Prithvi Shaw: 61 runs of 34 balls.
  • Rishabh Pant: 39* runs off 36 balls.
  • Ravi Bishnoi: 2/22 (4 overs).

IPL 2022, LSG VS DC, Lucknow Batting Innings (Run-Chase):

The Lucknow Super Giants started their innings with a bang. Quinton De Kock was looking in solid touch. The “left-hand, right-hand” combination of KL Rahul and Quinton De Kock made it difficult for the Delhi bowlers. Quinton looked in solid touch when he smashed his fellow South-African teammate Anrich Nortje for 3 fours and a 6 in the same over. The powerplay ended with LSG getting 48 runs.

Quinton De Kock was negotiating the short-ball well. Rishabh Pant was seen conversing with David Warner regarding the field placements. Kuldeep Yadav got the wicket of KL Rahul when the LSG scoreboard said 73-1. Ewin Lewis walked in next. Lewis who had smashed the CSK bowlers the other day didn’t trouble the scorers as he quickly handed out a catch to Kuldeep. Deepak Hooda was the next to come into bat.

Quinton, however, was on song. He was determined to bat deep. After scoring a quick-fire 50, De Kock settled and played a steadier inning as Lucknow was chasing a small score. After playing around 16 overs, Quinton perished to Kuldeep. This wicket would have done wonders of confidence to Kuldeep. He has been exclusively backed by the Delhi Capitals’ management.

After his dismissal, Krunal Pandya walked in. Pandya and Hooda were the pair that was out in the middle. The two had their differences a few months back but looked amazing. Shardul Thakur bowled an exceptional 18th over to bring the equation to 19 runs of 12 balls. Krunal Pandya hit two lusty blows to turn the game in favor of LSG. Shardul Thakur bowled an elite last over. Ayush and Krunal got the Lucknow Team home safely. They ended with 149/4.

Brief Scores:

  • Lucknow Super Giants win by 7 wickets.
  • Quinton De Kock: 80 of 52 balls.
  • Kuldeep Yadav: 2/31.
