IPL 2022: The developments for the upcoming fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have begun with the celebration of the New Year 2022. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) earlier announced the induction of two new IPL franchises that will become functional in IPL 2022.
The RPSG Group bagged the operational rights of the Lucknow based IPL franchise while the CVC Capitals Partners owned the functioning of the Ahmedabad based Indian Premier League franchise.
Though the Lucknow IPL team has already received its Letter Of Intent (LOI), Ahmedabad is yet to receive it from the BCCI.
Ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, the Lucknow based IPL franchise has revealed its official title sponsor. Fantasy sports platform My11Circle has successfully signed a three years deal with the franchise to become their title sponsor.
As part of the deal, My11Circle’s branding will be displayed in Lucknow’s IPL jersey for the upcoming three editions of the IPL.
The development was confirmed by the co-founder of Games 24×7.
“We are excited to announce our first IPL team sponsorship and the Lucknow team is a perfect fit as it represents the heartland of the country where cricket fans have ardently supported the sport and now get an opportunity to support their own team,” says Bhavin Pandya, co-Founder and co-CEO of Games24x7, about the association with one of the newest teams in IPL.
Expressing his delight on Lucknow’s association with My11Circle, RPSG Group CEO, Raghu Iyer said, “We are delighted to have My11Circle as our principal team sponsor. We thank them for the faith they have shown in our new franchise and are confident that this will be a winning partnership.”
Besides roping the title sponsor, a few other big steps have already been taken by the newly inducted Lucknow based IPL team.
It has roped in former Punjab Kings (PBKS) coach, Andy Flower as the head coach of the franchise. The franchise has also appointed former Indian left-handed batsman Gautam Gambhir as the mentor of the team.
