Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan walked out to bat for the Mumbai Team. The team was off to a flying start. They scored 52 runs off the first 6 overs. Rohit’s pull shot off the ball of Kamlesh Nagarkoti looked like the shot of the day. He walked down the track and attacked Khaleel Ahmed as well. Ishan Kishan on the other side took a back seat. Kuldeep Yadav bought the Delhi Capitals back in the game. Kuldeep found his lost magic. He took the wickets of Rohit Sharma (41 of 32), Anmolpreet, and Kieron Pollard. Ishan Kishan had a decent partnership with N Tilak Varma before he perished to Khaleel Ahmed. Kishan gave the team the required flourish at the end. Tim David and Daniel Sams also walked in with a few lusty blows.

The Delhi Capitals batting started on a high note. Tim Siefert was taking on the bowlers. Jasprit Bumrah and Daniel Sams were taken for 23 runs in the first few overs. Prithvi Shaw was on the song too. The downfall of the innings started with the dismissal of Seifert. He was cleaned up by Murugan Ashwin. One brings two, immediately the wicket of Mandeep Singh and Rishabh Pant fell. The Capitals were reduced to 32 for 3. Prithvi held the inning together and scored 38 of 24 balls. Before he fell at 72 for 4. Axar Patel then took matters into their own hands. He started tonking the Mumbai bowlers. Lalit Yadav was supporting him very well. Lalit Yadav was incredible. Daniel Sams wasn’t in the best of touch. He went for 3 sixes in his ultimate over and cost the men in blue the game. Jasprit Bumrah looked out of touch. He leaked runs at the economy of 13. Not the best of days for the maestro. Mumbai Indians like always lost their first match of an IPL 2022 season.

Lalit Yadav 48 of 38 balls.

Axar Patel 38 of 17 balls.

Murugan Ashwin 2/14.
