IPL 2022 Playoff venues confirmed by BCCI, Women’s Challenger Series to be held in Lucknow: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly has recently confirmed that Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium won’t host the IPL 2022 playoff matches. He further mentioned that the Women’s Challenger Series will be held from May 24th to 28th.
The ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is being held in the four venues across Maharashtra. The three prominent stadiums of Mumbai along with Pune’s MCA Stadium are hosting the Indian T20 League.
It was earlier expected that Ahmedabad and Lucknow may get a chance to stage the knockout matches of the IPL 2022, as the two cities are making their debut. However, Ganguly rubbished all the claims and confirmed that Kolkata’s Eden Gardens along with Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium will host the four playoff matches of the ongoing IPL 2022.
The qualifier and eliminator 1 will be staged in the iconic Eden Gardens while the eliminator 2 and final of the IPL 2022 will be held in the Narendra Modi Stadium.
He further mentioned that 100 per cent crowd capacity will be allowed to enter the stadium during the knockout phase to watch IPL 2022 matches.

“As far as the men’s IPL knock-out stage matches are concerned, it would be held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, with hundred per cent attendance allowed for the matches to be played after the league staged finishes on May 22,” said BCCI President Sourav Ganguly as quoted as saying by India TV.
Sourav Ganguly also confirmed that the Women’s Challenger Series will be held in Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium from May 22nd to 28th.
“The Women’s Challenger series will be held between May 24-28 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium,” he added.
Notably, the Indian Premier League (IPL) season fifteen is halfway down with all teams completing their seven league stage matches. So far, debutant side Gujarat Titans have executed their plans phenomenally well under rookie skipper Hardik Pandya and are the best performing side.
Hardik has led his team to six IPL 2022 wins and the franchise is currently placed atop the points table. Meanwhile, a five-time champion, Mumbai Indians have been the worst-performing team so far. The franchise has bagged an unwanted record of seven consecutive defeats in the tournament.
