IPL 2022 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap: The 34th match of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) saw Delhi Capitals (DC) lock horns with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The Sanju Samson spearheaded Rajasthan Royals defeated the Capitals by 15 runs and won the contest.
Skipper Sanju Samson lost the toss for the sixth time in the tournament and was asked to bat first. Rajasthan openers Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal were in a great run of form. Both the batters enjoyed their outing and provided a massive 155 runs opening stand.
Southpaw Devdutt Padikkal (54 off 3) completed his half-century and departed, while Jos Buttler slammed his third century of the season against Delhi Capitals. Buttler scored 116 runs in 65 deliveries with the help of nine boundaries and as many maximums.
Skipper Sanju Samson played his little cameo and whacked away the DC bowlers. Samson muscled 46 runs in just 19 deliveries and helped Rajasthan Royals post the highest total of the season, 222/2 in 20 overs.
The response from Delhi Capitals was quite commendable as their openers kickstarted the chase on a bright note. Despite openers providing a brisk start to the innings, DC’s middle order looked fragile and lost timely wickets.
Despite calculative efforts from Rishabh Pant, Lalit Yadav and Rovman Powell, Delhi Capitals eventually fell 15 runs short in the chase and lost the game.

Rajasthan Royals once again claimed the top spot in the points table following a good win against Delhi Capitals in the Wankhede Stadium. The men in pink now have five wins from seven outings in the IPL 2022 with a healthy net run rate of over 0.4.
Delhi Capitals now have four defeats in seven matches and are currently standing in the sixth position with six points.

IPL 2022 Orange Cap:
RR opener batter Jos Buttler continued his sublime form and extended his lead in the run-getters chart. The Englishman is now 226 runs ahead of the KL Rahul, who is placed second in the table.
With the third century of the season, Buttler now has a total of 491 runs in seven matches. The second on the list, KL Rahul has 265 runs followed by Prithvi Shaw, Faf du Plessis and Shivam Dube.
DC opener Prithvi Shaw also made a few jumps in the points table after he scored 37 runs off 27 balls against RR. The right-handed batter is placed third on the orange cap table.
IPL 2022: Purple Cap:
Table topper Yuzvendra Chahal picked a solitary wicket of Axar Patel during his tight spell of four overs. Chahal now has 18 wickets against his name. On the other side, Kuldeep Yadav couldn’t add any wickets to his name in the last night’s fixture. Yadav stands in the same second position with 13 wickets to his name.
CSK’s Dwayne Bravo is placed at three followed by T Natarajan and Khaleel Ahmad.
