IPL 2022 Team’s Playing Structure: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced the two successful bidders for the two new franchises of the Indian Premier League which will become functional from 2022 onwards. After long hours of evaluation and verification check, the cricket board revealed that RPSG Ventures Ltd. placed the highest bid and owned Lucknow based IPL franchise while Irelia Company Pte Ltd (CVC Capital Partners) emerged second highest bidders and bagged Ahmedabad.

The RPSG Ventures Ltd. acquired Lucknow for a whopping  INR 7,090 crores while CVC Capitals placed a bid of INR 5,625 crores to get Ahmedabad.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) season fifteen will have ten teams competing against each other and the tournament will consist of 74 matches. Each franchise will play seven home matches and seven away matches in the league stages.

It is reported that the fixture model used back in IPL 2011 will be again brought back to action. The 2011 IPL also had 10 teams playing and the teams were divided into two groups of five apiece. As many as 74 matches were scheduled to complete the cash-rich tournament. Teams had to complete 14 matches before the knockout stage. Each side was scheduled to play twice in their own group with the remaining four teams and then the team went out of the group to play one match against the four teams of the second group while two matches were played against the fifth team of the second group. In this way, each franchise completed its 14 matches in the league stage.
