IPL 2023: After the player registration period for the event ended on Wednesday, November 30, a total of 991 players registered for the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) auction, which will take place in Kochi on December 23.
The Indian Premier League Auction has received a total of 991 registrations by players, where the 10 franchises will sign cricketers and fill up the vacant spots in their respective squads. The players’ list comprises 185 capped, 786 uncapped, and 20 players from associate nations, according to a BCCI press release.
Sam Curran is one of 21 men who have set a maximum reserve price of INR 2 crore (roughly USD 246,000) for the 2023 IPL auction, which is scheduled to take place on December 23. There isn’t a single Indian player in the 2 crore tier.
Capped Indian cricketers, namely Mayank Agarwal, Kedar Jadhav, and Manish Pandey set a base price of Rs 1 crore. Former Rajasthan Royals captain Ajinkya Rahane and Saurashtra star Jaydev Unadkat have placed themselves in the ₹50 lakh bracket.

Looks like Dwayne Bravo has bid farewell to the IPL (at least as a player). His name was not on the long list since he was released by the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the auction. Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne are not on the list either.
India has the highest number of cricketers in the auction which is 714, followed by Australia with 57 players, South Africa with 52 players, West Indies with 33, and England with 31.
