IPL 2023 Trading Window:
Trading of players will be done by teams before the auction so as to improve the balance of their respective squads. The trading can be either done on player-to-player or in an all-cash deal.
The trading window is usually opened a month prior to the auction date so that teams can mutually negotiate deals and add new firepower to their respective squads. This time around, the most probable auction date is December 23, so we can expect the trading window to close on or before November 15th.
IPL 2023 Retention Rules:
Unlike the IPL 2022 mega auction, all the teams will bank on their existing players and the rules also allow them to do so. All ten teams of the IPL will retain most of their players and give them another opportunity to showcase their prowess.
However, there will be few players who will be released from each franchise. During the auction, new players will be filled in place of the released player by the teams.
IPL 2023 Purse:
During the last auction in the IPL 2022, the total purse value with each IPL team allotted was INR 90 Crores. It is expected that the value will get an increment of INR 5 Crores for the Tata IPL 2023 auction. The IPL 2023 purse value will be INR 95 Crores.
