IPL 2023: Ben Stokes to leave CSK camp after their last league game against DC. Check details

In what has been the latest development as per the reports in ESPNCricinfo, it is learned that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ben Stokes will leave the team?s camp after their last game league game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Delhi Capitals on Saturday (20th May).?

Ben Stokes will go back to England to prepare for the Test against Ireland followed by the Ashes 2023. It is learned that the English Test skipper has taken the decision to his own so that he can give himself enough time to recover ahead of the home season. 

Ben Stokes struggled with the toe issue throughout the IPL. The all-rounder played just two games and since then has been on the sidelines. He also has a history of knee injury and would be hoping to get completely fit before the hectic home season.?

IPL 2023: Ben Stokes not bowling fit - Stephen Fleming?

Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming also opened up about the availability of Ben Stokes for their last game against DC. He said that the all-rounder still isn?t fully fit to bowl and with Moeen Ali doing a terrific job, it is likely that they will not make any change. He said:?

"Ben's ability to bowl overs at the moment is still a bit of a challenge, but he's there as that batting cover. But with Moeen bowling well in good conditions - we go to Delhi [next] which has been turning - we think the balance of the side has been right. 

?And look, we're second on the table, so it's not our style to chop and change just because we've had a loss where things didn't go our way. We won't do that. We might tinker with it but we're very focused on getting the right team for Delhi.? 

Chennai Super Kings are currently placed second on the points table. A win for them would ensure then spot in the playoffs. It remains to be how will they fare in the game against DC.
