IPL 2023: The injury concerns in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 are turning from bad to worse. A number of key players have already been ruled out of the tournament and the woes have come on to hunt the Sunrisers Hyderabad camp as well.
IPL 2023: Washington Sundar gets ruled out of the IPL 16 due to a hamstring injury
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have suffered a major blow as ace all-rounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2023. The cricketer suffered a hamstring injury ahead of the team’s clash against Delhi Capitals.
It is assumed that Washington Sundar suffered pulled his hamstring injury while training and was declared unfit to play the remainder of the season. The all-rounder played a crucial role for the team in the side’s last game against DC at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.
Washington Sundar took three wickets with the ball and returned with the figures of 3/28 before chipping in with the crucial knock of unbeaten 24 runs in 15 balls. Although, SRH lost the game but his return to form was the biggest positive for them.

As he found his touch back, the injury woes come to haunt him and rule him out of the tournament. Washington Sundar, who was acquired by SRH for INR 8.25 crore in the IPL 2022 auction, scored 60 runs with the bat this season and also took three wickets.
SRH are reeling at the bottom of the points table and Sundar’s unavailability will leave a massive void for the team, who have just 4 points from 7 games. The franchise took their official Twitter account and confirmed the injury.
IPL 2023: Sunrisers Hyderabad to face Delhi Capitals next
Things are not working in the favour of the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing IPL 2023. They are reeling at the 9th position on the points table with just two wins under their belt. The Aiden Markram-led side managed to win against Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders and now are desperate for a win.
They will now face Delhi Capitals (DC) in their next game on Saturday (29th April). SRH would be hoping to turn things around in the second half of the tournament. If they manage a few losses more, they potentially will be out of the playoffs race.
