IPL 2023: The deadline for franchises to submit their list of retained players is closing up soon, and the location and date of the IPL Auction have been established. Before they release some of the players, Kolkata Knight Riders, a two-time champion, need to consider many factors. It is anticipated that the Men in Purple may trade for Shivam Mavi and re-sign star pacer, Lockie Ferguson. In addition, players like Aaron Finch, Venkatesh Iyer, and Ajinkya Rahane might not make the team.
In preparation for the forthcoming mini-auction, the two-time IPL champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are apparently eager to offload Aaron Finch. According to a report from Rev Sports, the team is trying to sign Alex Hales from England as a replacement.
The KKR brought in Aaron Finch to take Alex Hales’ place. In order to take advantage of the field limitations, the right-handed batter was given the starting position. Finch, though, did not make use of his opportunity. Finch added 86 runs to his profile in five appearances at an average of 17.20.

Ajinkya Rahane, on the other side, is one of the Indian Premier League players with the greatest experience. During the IPL 2021 mega auction, Rahane was purchased by the KKR team for INR 1 crore. He was given a shot at the top order but failed to deliver for his team just like Finch. The senior batter had seven appearances and scored 133 runs at a dismal average of 19.33.
Possible retention and releases for KKR for IPL 2023
KKR will undoubtedly retain the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, and Varun Chakravarthy. Two-time champions Pat Cummins, Nitish Rana, Sheldon Jackson, Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, and Umesh Yadav can also be kept in their team for IPL 2023.
