IPL 2023: MI won their seventh match of this season and defeated Gujarat by 27 runs. Surya knocked his first century of IPL and made 103 runs with a strike rate of 210.20. Akash took three wickets, whereas Piyush Chawla took two wickets.
The Whole batting of Gujarat has flopped, but the inning by Rashid Khan was phenomenal and he scored 79 runs with a strike rate of 246.88 and knocked ten sixes, and he took four wickets as well. David Miller has scored 41 runs in 26 balls.
Gujarat batters struggled today:
In the Second Inning, Gujarat’s batting collapsed and failed to continue their winning streak in the Wankhede. Vijay Shankar tried to hit some boundaries to release the pressure but got trapped in Piyush Chalwa’s spinner length. David Miller played an excellent inning as he scored 41 runs in 26 balls with two sixes and four Fours.
Rashid Khan played an expected knock in the last few overs and reduced the losing margin to 27 runs, which was so impressive as Gujarat was losing this match by more than 100 runs. Rashid has scored 79 runs with three fours and ten sixes.
Akash Madhwal took three wickets:
Akash Madhwal has taken three wickets with an economy rate of 7.75. Piyush Chawla and Kumar Kartikeya took two wickets each, whereas Jason Behrendroff took only one wicket.
MI made a huge runs on the scoreboard while batting first:
In the First Inning, Mumbai Indians batted first, and Rohit And Ishan Kisan both gave a good start in the powerplay. They made 61 runs for the 1st wicket. Rohit seems in good touch after consecutive failures, he scored 29 runs with two sixes and three fours. Ishan shined again and made 31 runs, but one more time, he didn’t convert it into the big one.
Suryakumar Yadav Played a fabulous inning, put Gujarat’s strong bowling line up into the confusion, and hitted a lot of boundaries in the this inning with some beautiful shots over the covers. Surya Knocked his first century of IPL and now he also comes into the race of purple cap.
Surya has scored 103 runs in 49 balls with eleven fours and six sixes. Vishnu Vinod, who played his first match of IPL and scored 30 runs, a good intent by this youngster.
Rashid Khan got four wickets:
Rashid Khan is the only bowler in his match who has bowled well and successful grab wickets of MI batters. Rashid Khan bowls very well, especially in the middle overs, where he tried to put some resistance to Surya’s aggressive batting. Mohit Sharma has taken one wicket and given 43 runs in four overs.
