With the win, MI bagged two crucial points and took a leap to reach sixth in the IPL 2023 Points Table.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) couldn’t chase 192 runs total set by Mumbai Indians (MI). The SRH batters looked to be in trouble against the MI bowlers on the sticky surface at Hyderabad. Opener Mayank Agarwal was determined to take his side home, but he was dismissed for 48 runs.
Skipper Aiden Markram got a good start to his innings, but he couldn’t capitalise on it. The same goes with wicketkeeper batter Henrich Klassen who tonked 36 runs off mere 16 deliveries. After all the efforts, in the end, SRH were left short of a genuine batter and lost the game to MI by 14 runs in the final over of the innings.
Earlier in the innings, Mumbai Indians (MI) piled up 192 runs in 20 overs. The MI openers once again provided a quick start to the innings with captain Rohit Sharma scoring 28 runs off 16 deliveries. However, he was soon outfoxed by T Natarajan with his slower delivery.
Ishan Kishan was joined by Cameron Green and both batters added another 40 runs to the total, before the dismissal of Ishan Kishan. Cameron Green then joined forces with Tilak Verma who accelerated the innings following a brief period of silence. Towards the end of the innings, Green and Tim David finished off things in style for MI and posted 192 run total.
