IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap: In the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader, MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings(CSK) defeated David Warner’s Delhi Capitals(DC) by 77 runs at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, Delhi. The remarkable victory has resulted in the official qualification of CSK to the Playoffs.
It was North vs South, and the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium of Delhi was covered in Yellow. Batting first CSK got a strong start and maintained that pace throughout the innings. Both the openers cooked 79 (Ruturaj) and 87 (Conway).
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals were completely off-colored this season. Except for David Warner, none of the batters looked comfortable against CSK’s bowling unit. Their bowling was also not up to the mark and they leaked 223 runs in 20 overs and could just manage to take 3 wickets towards the end.
In pursuit of 224 runs total set by CSK, DC crumbled down right form the start and could only manage to score 147. With the win, CSK have qualified for IPL 2023 playoff.
