IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap: Match number 35 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 saw reigning champions Gujarat Titans (GT) go head to head with Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans (GT) handed a crushing defeat to Mumbai Indians (MI) by 55 runs.

MI after winning the toss opted to field first and got off to a fine start. Arjun Tendulkar removed Wriddhiman Saha early on in the innings. Soon Hardik Pandya and Vijay Shankar were also removed without any serious damage. However, opener Shubman Gill was playing a gem of an innings at the other end.

Gill scored 56 runs in 34 deliveries before his dismissal. David Miller and Abhinav Manohar struck beautifully and cured the middle-order woes of Gujarat Titans. While Miller scored 22-ball 46, Abhinav Manohar scored 21-ball 42. To end the innings perfectly, Rahul Tewatia smacked 20 runs in 5 deliveries and took GT total to 207 runs.

The response from Mumbai Indians was meek and submissive. Rohit Sharma departed without scoring many runs. He was followed by Ishan Kishan and MI’s overall score at the end of the powerplay wasn’t up to the mark. Cameron Green played for a bit, but he was also dismissed for 33 runs.

Nehal Wadhera played some threatening innings as he scored 40 runs in 21 deliveries, however, the total of 207 runs was far-fetched for MI with their dismal batting performance. In the end, MI fell 55 runs short and continued their losing run in the IPL 2023.
