IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap: Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans (GT) took an unassailable win against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday night to strengthen their position atop the points table with a total of seven victories in 10 matches. Gujarat defeated Rajasthan by nine wickets, after a rare failure from RR’s batting unit at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium.
Once again Gujarat bowlers put up a fascinating show with their fine skills which saw them restricting the opposition to a meagre total of 118 runs in 20 overs. Jos Buttler continued his lean patch as he was dismissed by Hardik Pandya and then Yashasvi Jaiswal was run out by Sanju Samson. Then skipper Samson himself couldn’t do any better for the side and got dismissed.
Samson remained the highest run-getter for his side with the contribution of 30 runs. The rest of the batters couldn’t score more than 15 runs and eventually, RR got just 118 runs on board to defend against Gujarat Titans (GT).
Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha both got some runs for Gujarat Titans (GT) and stitched a 71-run opening wicket partnership. Gill was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal, but then the incoming batter Hardik Pandya looked in a hurry to finish the game and tonked 39 runs in just 15 balls to take his side home by nine wickets.

Gujarat Titans will probably become the first team to enter the IPL 2023 playoff if it continues to play in this fashion. GT have seven victories from 10 matches and will require just one or two more to seal a place for themselves in the top four. It is positioned atop the IPL 2023 Points Table with 14 rating points.
On the other side, Rajasthan Royals have just not been able to come back stronger after the defeats. RR is currently placed fourth in the points table with 10 points from 10 matches.
IPL 2023 Orange Cap
Rajasthan Royals’ young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal couldn’t add significant runs to his tally after getting run out by Sanju Samson. Jaiswal scored 14 runs in the game and his overall total goes to 442 runs in 10 matches. The batter is currently placed second in the IPL 2023 Orange Cap leaderboard.
Shubman Gill added 36 runs in the game and he now has 375 runs from 10 matches. Gill is placed fourth in the IPL 2023 Orange Cap leaderboard.
IPL 2023 Purple Cap
Rashid Khan scalped three wickets in the game against Rajasthan Royals by conceding just 14 runs in 4 overs. With his three scalps, Rashid Khan is now placed second in the IPL 2023 Purple Cap leaderboard with 18 wickets in 10 matches.
Gujarat pacer Mohammad Shami has also scalped 18 wickets after playing 10 matches and is the purple cap holder currently.
