IPL 2023: IPL has been widely regarded for its highly entertaining gameplay and for providing an incredibly competitive platform for national and international talents. Many great players have dominated the shorter format, particularly those who could score quick runs at the end of a game and bowl crucial overs when their team needed them.
In the game of the strongest power strikers, the biggest hitters and the strongest tangent of players are mostly placed in the lower middle order of the batting order. It is the all-rounders who mostly play in a finishing role and are good at switching gears during the end overs. It is also noted that often in a T20 game, the power-hitting finishers end a successful batting inning.
Let’s take a look at the 10 teams and their best possible set of all-rounders in IPL 2023:
10. Rajasthan Royals (RR) – Riyan Parag, Jason Holder and Ravichandran Ashwin
Rating: 5/10
Rajasthan Royals had a prolific run in the last season of the IPL in 2022, but one of the prime causes of their ultimate failure in the brilliant run was the absence of a good bunch of all-rounders. The Royals, however, looked to build an impressive lineup by picking up a certain promising set of all-rounders in the 2022 mini-auction.
They already have the talented Indian domestic all-rounder Riyan Parag, No. 7, who excels more with the bat than the ball while playing for Assam in the Indian domestic tournaments. The Royals ended their hunt for a fifth bowling option and a hitter at No. 7 by picking up Jason Holder for 5.75 crores in the IPL 2023 mini-auction.
Another dependable option in the Royals’ lineup is Indian veteran Ravi Ashwin, who was an asset for the Royals during their incredible run in 2022, both with the bowl and with the bat in times of crisis. The trio is expected to be good at executing their game on the field.

9. Mumbai Indians (MI) – Cameron Green
Rating: 6/10
Though the Mumbai Indians are the most successful team in the history of the tournament and also the most formidable team on the team sheets, they still lack numbers in the slot for all-rounders. The Indians, however, have only picked Cam Green at a whopping price of 17.5 crores in the IPL mini-auction.
The mighty Australian hitter is flexible enough to play at all positions, as he can smack the ball in all situations, both at the top of the inning and even at the end of the inning. He also has a special hand in bowling crucial overs and can be a good go-to bowler. However, Green is the only choice MI has as an all-rounder, as they lack options in that role.

8. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) – Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Shakib Al-Hasan and David Wiese
Rating: 6/10
Though KKR is known to have players with the maximum power-hitting capacity and highly recognized finishers from around the world, they haven’t shown any proficiency in the recent past. The Knight Riders’ all-rounders had earlier nailed it, but later could not secure their efficiency.
The hugely built Andre Russell was the anchor of KKR’s power-hitting ability, but he lost his form and sense of timing and hence failed in the last few years. Another eminent all-rounder was Sunil Narine, both with the bat and ball; however, he lost his proficiency with age.
KKR, along with these veteran players, have now included longtime player Shakib and newly included Wiese, and whoever features in the lineup is expected to deliver in one way or another.

7. Delhi Capitals (DC) – Mitchell Marsh, Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav
Rating: 7/10
The Capitals have always had a balanced lineup, as they include top-notch batters at the top of the order, a hitched middle order, power-packed finishers consisting of genuine all-rounders, and a baseline made up of resisting bowlers. Their IPL 2023 squad is nothing different.
Out of all these uniquely talented players, the most entertaining set is often that of the all-rounders, which now comprise the big-hitting man from western Australia, Mitchell Marsh, the recently consistent lower-order all-rounder, Axar Patel, and the Capitals’ reliable domestic asset, Lalit Yadav.
Though Marsh has been a bit out of touch in recent years, on the other hand, Axar has attained greater proficiency in playing continuous cricket in Indian colors.
6. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) – Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Romario Shepherd, Daniel Sams and Kyle Mayers
Rating: 7/10
Though the team made its debut in the last season, the set of all-rounders in the team consists of highly experienced players, like Marcus Stoinis and Krunal Pandya. The big-hitting Aussie all-rounder captivates the game with his finishing skills and is capable of changing the course of the game at any point.
Krunal, on the other hand, adds more balance to the LSG batting order and can bowl economical overs at all stages of the game. LSG included many new players in their set by picking big-hitting Romario Shepherd, effective Daniel Sams, and reliable Kyle Mayers, and they can also count on Deepak Hooda to play the role of a batting all-rounder and roll his fingers over the ball.

5. Gujarat Titans (GT) – Hardik Pandya, Rahul Tewatiya, Odean Smith and Rashid Khan
Rating: 7/10
The debutante in the last season showed a prolific debut in their debut season. The Titans depended on the proficiency of their middle order, which consisted mostly of all-rounders. Hardik Pandya, their captain, has been the most prominent contributor among all of these players, leading his team from the front in both the batting and bowling departments.
Another efficient player in the lineup is Tewatiya, who smacked the ball and launched attacks on their opponents in every finishing situation. The team is also highly dependent on the veteran T20I expert, Rashid Khan, the Afghan, has set several records with the ball and is also efficient in scoring runs at a massive rate, especially during run chases.

4. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) – Aiden Markram, Abhishek Sharma, Washington Sundar and Marco Jansen
Rating: 7.5/10
SRH is probably the team with the best lineup on the team sheets, and the most comprehensive set of players is in their middle order. SRH’s all-rounders are perfectly spread throughout the innings, with the first bat-and-ball combination player coming at the top of the order, Abhishek Sharma.
The preeminent all-around option in their squad is the versatile Aiden Markram, who has proven his terrific class and resistance in all formats of the game and is also announced as the skipper for SRH in IPL 2023. Other quality all-rounders include the young pacemen Marco Jansen and Sundar, as both are equally efficient in the batting department as well.

3. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) – Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner
Rating: 8/10
The most successful team in terms of winning percentage in the tournament was not that convincing in the last season. The most intriguing player in the setup is Ben Stokes, who was bought at an alarming rate of 16.25 crores in IPL 2023 mini-auction. Stokes will add to the reliability of CSK’s middle order and is expected to be their go-to bowler in difficult situations.
Equally proficient Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja have been part of the “Men in Yellow” setup for many years now. These players provide sublime balance to the Super Kings’ setup in IPL 2023. The current Kiwi skipper is equally proficient in the shorter format, especially on Indian pitches.
2. Punjab Kings (PBKS) – Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone and Sikander Raza
Rating: 9/10
The Punjab Kings are stunning as an overall unit, however, their all-rounders are different and stable performers in the recent scenario. They broke all records in their attempt to bid for English bowling all-rounder Sam Curran, as they picked him at an alarming price of 18.5 crores in IPL 2023 mini-auction.
Another smart buy was the Zimbabwean all-rounder and limited-overs skipper Sikander Raza, who is no doubt the best limited-overs cricketer playing across all limited-overs formats of the game. These two will add to the proficiency of Liam Livingstone, and together the trio will emerge as an invincible combination in IPL 2023.

1. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) – Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed and Wanindu Hasaranga
Rating: 10/10
The RCB lineup comprises the best set of all-rounders who excel at delivering all-round excellence on the field. Their prime all-round option and most reliable player is the Aussie T20 veteran Glenn Maxwell, who has shown excellent performance in the shorter format in whichever league he has played in. Shahbaz Ahmed has been an equally relevant player while playing as a batsman in the middle order and has often been promoted up the order when the team is in crisis.
Wanindu Hasaranga, RCB’s biggest buy of the 2022 auction, is another all-star in the RCB’s IPL 2023 squad. He was a standout performer for the Challengers the previous year.
