After the first weekend’s matches featured exciting batting performances in IPL 2023, the matches from the second weekend saw a rise in bowlers, especially the spinners who spun a web for the batters. The following week continues, with the third encounter witnessing the biggest rivalry of the tournament as the Rajasthan Royals take on their longtime rivals, the Chennai Super Kings.

Ruturaj Gaikwad vs Trent Boult
The competent sporadic Indian opener has already wreaked havoc in IPL 2023 as he tops the list of highest run-getters with two consecutive 50s in the first two games. Gaikwad came in with a distinct feature this year, as he has been striking the ball at a brutal strike rate.
Gaikwad is outstanding against pace, but Boult, with his natural swing, angle, and less pace, is a proper opponent against the informed batter. The Kiwi has also been sizzling with the new ball, as always, for the Royals.
Jos Buttler vs Tushar Deshpande
The English skipper has shown terrific form in international cricket, leading his team to a massive win in the T20 World Cup and then his commanding performance in the longer 50-over format as well.
After displaying his caliber in the IPL season of 2022, where he is feared by all opposition and CSK’s leading bowler power plays, Tushar Deshpande would be counted on to hit the cracks and shock the batter with his change of pace deliveries.
Yeshasvi Jaiswal vs Deepak Chahar
The young and sporadic Indian talent has evolved to be a comprehensive opener in the shorter format of the game and has developed his batting skills to emerge as a batter with a higher strike rate. Jaiswal has gradually earned a special spot amongst many giants of the game, like Hetmyer, who too is in terrific form.
To get him out cheaply, Captain Cool would switch to his most experienced bowling assistant, Deepak Chahar, to produce something special with the new ball in hand. Deepak Chahar has not been that sharp in IPL 2023 so far but we hope that he will up his game against RR.
