IPL 2024: Aakash Chopra picks his SRH XI for IPL; leaves out Aiden Markram
Going into the IPL 2024, one of the teams on which the spotlight will be is Sunrisers Hyderabad. Under the leadership of Pat Cummins, they are looking for a threatening force and have some quality players in their ranks as well.
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra looked into the combination SRH can opt for in IPL 2024 and picked their probable playing XI. The cricketer-turned-commentator picked Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen as the four overseas players.
What caught the attention of many he left out Aiden Markram, who was the captain of the team. The South Africa batter has been one of the finest T20 batters going around in the world. The former skipper of the franchise mustered 248 runs at an average of 22.55 in 13 innings in IPL 2023.
Aakash Chopra believes that SRH should make Travis Head open the innings in IPL 2024 alongside either Abhishek Sharma or Mayank Agarwal. Aakash Chopra then backed Rahul Tripathi and Heinrich Klaasen to bat at No.4 and No.5 respectively.
Aakash Chopra further feels that SRH will have to choose from Jaydev Unadkat, Umran Malik and T Natarajan as the third pacer in the team alongside Pat Cummins and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the IPL 2024.
Here’s Aakash Chopra’s playing 11 for the SRH for IPL 2024:
