IPL 2024: In what has been the latest development former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir is likely to join the Kolkata Knight Riders as a part of support staff. The reports in Danik Jagron have revealed that the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor will join the team for the forthcoming seasons.
Gautam Gambhir recently met up with KKR franchise owner Shahrukh Khan. The reports suggested that the duo had a conversation related to that at the Bollywood actor’s residence in Mumbai. Earlier there were also reports about that but that’s ended up to be true.
The earlier reports have suggested that Gautam Gambhir himself expressed his desire to leave the franchise and was in talks with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) management for the IPL 2024.
If the reports related to Gautam Gambhir in talks with Kolkata Knight Riders turn out to be true, it’ll be a homecoming for the former Indian cricketer. He joined KKR in 2011 and made it one amongst the most successful franchises in the league.
Gautam Gambhir led them to title glory in 2012 and 2014 and under him, KKR were a dominating force. If he returns to the team, it’ll be a massive boost for them as they have been struggling to get going in the last two seasons.

IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants recently roped in former Australian head coach Justin Langer as their head coach for the next season of the tournament. The development was confirmed by the franchise on their social media handles.
This came after the two-year contract of Andy Flower with Lucknow Super Giants concluded after the IPL 2023 and the franchise parted ways with him. This paved way for the franchise to look out for a new coach and as per the reports in Cricbuzz it is learned that Gautam Gambhir suggested the name of Justin Langer.
This will be his maiden IPL stint in the league as a coach. He has had great success as coach of the team as he led Australia to the T20 World Cup 2021 win and also under him Perth Scorchers to three Big Bash League titles in the first four years.
